I'll ask her on Monday if she's got class around 1, and if she doesn't then I'll tell her to meet me in the student union to get lunch.

Ok, if by some stroke of luck she asks me if I'm free for lunch on Monday, should I say yes (if I am, that is) or no?

Cos I can see how it'd be coming off as desperate if I ask her, but the other way around?

Well ok, I'll just talk to her and whatnot on Monday and Tuesday, then on Wednesday I'll ask her out for lunch.

I mean, to play devil's advocate on your point, if she's really into me then it's not like waiting an extra couple days will make or break anything, eh?

That's not true. She can be interested, but she can be even more interested if he doesn't act THAT interested. You should know, girls dig the cat and mouse game. I hate it, but it's how college girls act. If you're more of a dick, the more interested they'll be. The instant they see you're incredibly for it and want it badly, they run (not all, but a majority do because they're scared of commitment and don't think they deserve it). Teenage and college girls need to have been in a few serious relationships and hurt badly before they really know what they want (I'm generalising here, but it applies to a lot of them).

So if he waits, she'll still be interested, but she might think he's too interested if he jumps to it on Monday. Let her sweat, it does no harm.

It's all about who has the power at the start. A lot of girls don't like the guy being weak at his knees when they're with them. So if he waits, he shows he can control what he wants and can get it when he wants it.

Plenty of times I've been in clubs with mates and groups of girls, and you know instantly which ones are the hottest and which ones THINK they are... if you act un-interested and unimpressed by them, they will make it their task to make you interested in them by the end of the night.

So, at the end of the day, let the girl wait a few more days. Talk to her of course, but show that you can ask whenever you want it, not at the next opportune moment.
