You are correct their are few "left wing loons", most left wing commentators have their roots set in stand up comedy. Fitting in my opinion.

Do you mean Keith Olbermann? Do you mean sports journalism rather than comedy? You'd have more credibility if you got the occasional reference right.

My god, thats even funnier.

In January 2006, CNN's Headline News announced that Beck would host a nightly news-commentary show in their new prime-time block Headline Prime. The show, simply called Glenn Beck, aired weeknights. CNN Headline News described the show as "an unconventional look at the news of the day featuring his often amusing perspective".

Wait a minute, isn't that a - drum-roll - liberal channel - clap of thunder ?
Seems like a dick with a background in comedy who'll say whatever will get him paid, which no doubt applies to the rest of your favourite pundits.

Would you be happy if MSNBC hired Beck to spiel extreme left wing gabble with no reference to the real world? Would that balance things out for you?
