I too must ask the above quoted message of who is Peter Petrelli and why I should care.

From wikipedia (yes, I had to look):

Peter Petrelli, portrayed by Milo Ventimiglia, is a fictional character on the NBC science fiction drama series Heroes. He is a hospice nurse-turned-paramedic  in his mid-20s with the power to absorb and mimic the powers of other people with special abilities, or powers. Sensitive and compassionate, the character was initially defined by his complex relationship with his older brother, Nathan. Since that time, Peter Petrelli has had to deal with the outcomes from the decisions that his abilities force him to make.

[...]

Peter's original ability is to mimic the powers of others, acquiring powers simply by being near someone. Peter is eventually stripped of his abilities by his father Arthur Petrelli, before later regaining a modified form of this ability called ability replication through the formula.

[...]

In the mid-season finale, "Dual", he injects himself with a power granting formula and gains a new, more limited mimicry ability called ability replication. He is once again able to mimic others' powers, but now he requires physical contact to do so, and can only retain one ability at a time, losing the previous power each time he gains a new one.
So I'm guessing he'd acquire the violent aspect of Rogue's abilities, but I think the two would cancel each other out, leaving Rogue with little else but to kick his ass with all her danger room training (at the hands of Wolverine), field experience and her own deranged brand of psychotic schizophrenia.

That said, I voted Rogue before I even knew that much about Peter. I'll have to watch the show, though.

She's a little stronger in that one, but the series died at the end of season one due to lack of funding. Anyway, waiting for Evo S4 and Animaniacs V4 on DVD have been slightly irritating me for awhile. At least Marvel hosts the complete Evo series on Youtube. You can watch all of that you can stomach there.

Why are you even watching Xmen Evolution?

It's made for 10year olds no?

Are you kidding or just trying to win cool points? X-Men itself is a childish series, no matter what the incarnation. Despite the target audience, Evolution is far more grounded in 'reality' than any of the other shows. Alien invasions and time travel mindfucks have no place in it. The episodes coherently tie the series together, and the ones that don't are sidetracked to build upon a minor character. The show also won several technical awards for quality work, including both Emmy nominations and wins.

The the images I pulled for this thread, apart from bell-bottom Kitty, stem from that show. Allowing 'target audience' to determine whether or not I saw something would severely cut me off from outstanding TV shows and movies (How to Train Your Tragon, Pinky & the Brain, etc.).

flashback scene: kid Magneto rescued from a Nazi concentration camp beats this any day.

Maybe you mostly saw the light-hearted episodes. Shit got real once they started having to deal with Trask's sentinels and the rise of Apocalypse. The show also gave us the X-23 (slight family resemblance in the pic ) character.

The original x men series was boss because I was like 8 at the time and therefore has a great nostalgic factor

In terms of the rogue/gambit thing I'm pretty sure her powers did work on him. So she had to keep gloves on and shit

The original X-Men is nostalgic, but I think Evo was a superior product for character development. If it had been allowed four more seasons, it could have tied in a great deal more of the mythologies and soap. There's some who think that they wanted to quit while they were high in the ratings, but I think it was retarded IP snafu that got the show pulled.

And yeah, if I remember right, all skin contact between Rogue and Gambit had to be brief.

Yeah, that was kind of the first part of Season 1, when they were establishing the setting and characters. Later, the place turned into a cesspool of prejudice (some not unreasonable), and had to be abandoned.
