Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
I was thinking IE. I hear 9 is a pretty good browser.AussieReaper wrote:

Been using a CR-48 for over a month now... it's little more than a crippled iPad. I ended up just using it as a computer for when I was too lazy to go to my desktop from the couch. The Atom processor in there is very slow and on battery you can forget about getting any real work done, it's just too slow. On AC it's better but still not all that fabulous (YouTube often lags and drops frames pretty regularly).
Hmm. Interesting to note.... i'm going to take it with me to work.
All in all, i'm still not going to be upset that i got it for free

Remember having to lug a motherboard and CRT to work each day?Morpheus wrote:

That was a pain in the ass.
it looked like a repackaged, rebranded, smug-cunt excuse for a black macbook to me...CapnNismo wrote:

you know, for the crowd that are too cool/fussy to use apple/OSX, but still want to be 'different'
i'll stick to my blackbook

Uzique - I totally agree. I wish Apple would produce the black, rubberized Macbook again (or at the very least the aluminum Macbook!) because the current white plastic model is so trashy.
Morpheus - if you have to use Google Docs and Microsoft Office/Open Office a lot, you are going to have nothing but compatibility issues. Let me know if you end up using Office Live, though, for some reason but I imagine that it will work just fine with normal Microsoft Office products. Google Docs is an absolute POS if you want to use the documents OUTSIDE of Docs...

Those black macbooks looked awesome..
I'm currently in a tech buying limbo at the moment. I'm about to buy a nice tube headphone amp.. but am waiting for a fucking cable to ship (ie. for them to actually process my friggin order) from the USA before I buy it (otherwise I wouldn't be able to use the amp).. baaah so sick of waiting..

black macbook is my favourite gadget, still... i take good care of it. have body-shell, mousemat protection etc. so it won't wear and tear very easily. definitely worth the investment, too, as i upgraded the RAM to max capacity and the hard-drive to the 250Gb version. still stands as a perfectly fast and daily-usable laptop today... especially since snow-leopard and 64-bit compatibility for that hardware! i have no need for the new generation macbooks because the only main upgrade is the nvidia GPU. don't need a GPU for laptop-tasks, imo...
anyway, just yeah. the black macbook is one of my favourite gadgets of all time. way up there with my first iPod (the video generation one). perfect devices suited to their daily need. nothing excessive or over fancy. they just worked (and still do).

Yeah I fucking love the blackbook as well.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
Couldn't agree with you more, Uzi.
Agree to a certain point, the only thing I think is pretty awesome is the cloud software potential. Google is currently the only company with the vast resources (both monetary wise and technology wise) need to pour into fully developing a truly functional cloud based unit. Otherwise, it is quite similar to the blackbook, and far less superior in most aspects.Uzique wrote:

:o how much did it set you back Alex?
Look into the Windows Live offerings. If you really need something like that, Windows Live has a lot of powerful and FREE offerings.Reddhedd wrote:

$210 USD with a two year contract... got on my brother in laws and sisters family plan so it only costs $9.99 more for the extra line and $25.00 for a 2GB/month data plan. Of course, I'm going to chip in for the 700 shared minutes and unlimited text/mms plan..Sup wrote:

You're not gonna go over the 2gb cap, so don't worry. my mate used 3.5gb in 18 months on his 3galexb wrote:

finally got my hands on this.
Well that looks highly useless.
That's not a truck.
