Can't really watch shows like that. It always pisses me off if the people are fat for no reason whatsoever other than being lazy

I used to watch made on mtv, but it always pissed me off when a PT was doing a great job with the training and motivating, but when they went on a surprise visit they caught the fat fuck eating double deep fried bacon chips or some shit like that. Happens like every episodes when the participant has to lose weight

I'm ~1m.71, that's about 5'7". 72KG (159lbs). Goal is increasing strength at the moment. Going to work purely on strength for the next 12 weeks, then focus a bit more on mass. Goals are increasing bench to 100KGx5 (weakest lift), Squat to 135x5 and Deadlift to 160x5 by the end of this year.

I'm pretty certain those goals are doable, but as this will be my first year of 'serious' training (so not on and off) I decided to set a few goals I should be able to attain

(I'm at 70x5, 100x5 and 130x2 right now)

right now i do bench 55kgx5, squats 80kgx10, DL 75kgx5. But I am planning on adding more weight to all soon. My goal is something around 70kg, 100kg+, 100kg+, but right now i'm focusing on gaining lean muscle mass

I might not be able to gain a lot of weight, but every cloud has a silver lining. I never really need to cut, even If wouldn't bulk clean, all i would need is a short cut.

Me neither. As I'm an ectomorph I don't really have to do cardio to drop BF%. I still bike to to the gym, which is my general cardio anyway. Gonna keep on bulking till June and then start cutting

That owner sure does sound pretty cool, Jebus. A lot different than what you had first thought when you posted about that place a few weeks ago.

Ah ok. How much do you recommend eating?
Aren't you consuming whey shakes? .. I thought I saw that earlier. I know you said you eat a lot of chicken.

Be careful because too much protein can actually be bad. Protein should not make up more than 30% of your caloric intake. Doing more can produce toxic ketones.. which makes your liver work harder than it should. Just remember you are shooting for a proper balance.
I wasn't really planning on eating peanut butter, the question was more for educational purposes. Thanks for the advice though. I'm really only trying to consume a maximum of 150-200g of protein a day. If I have 4 shakes it usually means I'm not eating lots of chicken on that day as a result.

You also need to look at your diet. What is a typical day's food intake for you? (ie. types of foods, size of meals, how often you eat)
Yeah, I know diet is like 90% of the game. I usually have Kashi GoLean cereal for breakfast cos it's high in fiber, protein etc and keeps me feeling full for a while. Some days I'll have pancakes or an omelete though (bad, I know). Lunch is usually something from the food court at school, but lately I've been going to the one that serves salads. It's pricier but a lot cheaper than McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Sbarro and Panda Express Dinner is usually whatever my dad decides. Some days it's pretty healthy and other days it's not.

Size of meals, well I guess they're big enough that I don't need much of an in-between snack. I eat probably 4 times a day, since I usually do get hungry between lunch and dinner. I do remember from back in the days when I did a lot of lifting that it's good to eat smaller meals 5-6 times a day. I also remember that it's good to aim for 30/30/40? distribution of protein, fat and carbs. I loved me some ON Extreme Milk Chocolate powder

I have no clue what Kashi GoLean is, but i personally eat oats for brekky. An omelete every once in a while won't hurt as long you dont stuff it with cheese and other fats. Pancakes are a problem, try and steer clear of those.
From what I know, the food in American schools is always a nightmare. You could try bringing your own food to school.
I'm stuck on dinner as well but its always healthy, but I'm just gonna assume that yours is too.

Decent. Omelettes are actually a really good source of protein. Most people recommend egg whites only but I can't do that. So I usually go 3 egg whites to 1 egg yolk. Adds that bit of flavour and helps it to bind better. The egg whites have almost all the protein an egg contains (and a brilliant source of it too), whilst the yolks have most of the fat and cholesterol, hence the whole egg white thing. Pancakes aren't too bad as long as you cut out as much sugar as possible, and the fact they're usually made from white flour means the carbohydrate type isn't as good as wholemeal, but as long as you're not eating them every single day I wouldn't stress it too much. Maybe just make sure you don't eat a lot of pancakes when you do eat them, and have something else like a piece of fruit to help fill you up in the morning.

Salads are great but also remember you need to be eating a lot of protein to help aid muscle growth. But certainly healthier than anything McDonalds will ever serve (except for a salad with no dressing of course). Like Kamp above suggested, bringing your own food works best if you can. You know exactly what's in it and in the long run it works out cheaper anyway. Just takes a bit of extra time to prepare is all.

I recommend having in between meal snacks to keep your metabolism ticking along. Try to keep these relatively small and containing a lot of protein and dietary fibre. If it's before a workout some extra carbs can help here too. If you're not really hungry then reduce the size of the main meals a little. It's better to graze throughout the day then fill yourself up with big meals 3x daily.

You want to eliminate all sugar from your diet if possible. Any sugars your body needs will come from the foods you eat normally anyway, especially fruit.

I'm certainly no nutritional expert and don't pretend to be one, but since I've followed the pointers above I've lost weight and people have noticed. Hopefully something there might help a bit.

Yeah, I know oats are a good option as well.

The food at my uni's cafeteria isn't bad, there's a salad bar and a make-your-own-sandwich bar I believe. However it's in an inconvenient location for those days when I don't have lots of time to eat between classes

e: Jaekus, what snacks do you recommend?
