It's for gaming, so surround sound is necessary (I wanna give it a try in headset form) and also a mic is needed to be attached.
NIC's are a waste of money... and PhysX is pointless - have you even looked at the list of PhysX supported games?unnamednewbie13 wrote:
Should bring me to $1745, and I'm happy enough if it doesn't top $2000. I could dump some of the extras to get an X58 with two 570's, but some of these are toys that I'll use in the next build.CHA) $200

Alex.. it's okay.. let it go.
Writing a 2000 word report on WANs... yawn.
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.

Give it a rest. If you were able to read, you'd see that I already have an older NV card lying around that could be used for one. $0 is $0, my friend. And yes, I've seen the list, and a ton of games I play or plan to play are on there, including Mafia 2, Metro 2033, Mirror's Edge, Sacred 2, GRAW2 and Arkham Asylum (and likely Arkham City). Why on earth would I buy two mid-high video cards when I could play with Physx (for awhile at least) for free?
The NIC's just opinion. I kind of look forward to tinkering with its Linux OS. $200 would be a turnoff, but $80 is a spit in the bucket when building a computer that goes over a grand.
Why is onboard shit of all she's doing is browsing the web and looking at email?FFLink wrote:
You suck at posting, Finray. If I didn't need a GPU, why would I be asking for one? She does have onboard - it's shit.
Can't find a 4670 anywhere, and that 4350 apparently is worse than a 7600GT, so I'ma go for a GT 220.
Cheers, all.
I never said that's all she does
There's considerably more than 2,000 words worth of interesting WAN-related stuff to write about. If you're yawning, then you're doing it wrong.Camm wrote:

I know, I'm actually really, really interested in it. It's just... trying to do it after a day of college when all you wanna do is chill isn't as much fun as I thought.mikkel wrote:

Tbh, you'd be better off ditching the NIC and the 9800 and getting a sound card instead..., thats my two cents.

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Intel Recalls Sandy Bridge chipset due to design flaw. Affects the 6-series chipset on the MB. Having to do with the SATA ports within the chipset degrading over time.
While desktops would be easier to replace, shit for laptop owners.

Wow...I was actually gonna consider a 2000K for my new rig but I guess not now
and AMD stocks just rose 4-5% with that announcement.
But the asshole I bought this from on ebay decided he wanted to charge extra on postage so I told him where to go and got a refund.
So I bought this instead.
