She's not much of a threat. She's borderline retarded. That's why I don't understand the left getting all worked up over her. She only appeals to a very small minority of voters.

The media made her look stupid and continue to do that. And I wouldn't say very small minority.

I've watched her show, she's a stupid woman. She just has good speech writers. And yes War Man, people like you are a tiny minority. The vast majority of the country doesn't fit into the left/right dichotomy, we're independent.

She just seems vapid. It's got nothing to do with her way of life or her love of guns or anything else like that. I respect intelligence and she either doesn't articulate it well or she just doesn't have any.

I don't hate her. But I sure as hell don't think she is presidential material.

She gets under the lefts skin because she is "in your face". I mean, that is all I ever hear out of her. In her defense she is constantly being attacked, viciously at times.

Sad but I think yes...  Pelosi/Wasserman-Schultz types.  Pro Aboriton, Anti gun, Bra burning, Socialist crap...  All the things that define and make up an empowered woman to the left -Palin isn't..  Yet Palin is empowered.

Well, it's probably her voice and the way she speaks that makes you think that which is understandable. Sometimes I get my ears irritated just listening to her speak.

Probably every interview I've ever seen her do. I think what Galt and a lot of us notice is that there is no depth to her talk. She lost what little respect I had for her as a politician when she quit her elected office to join Foxnews, and to start a reality show. She abandoned her constituency to make money. Then she tried to feed us that lame duck shit..  She has no chance at the presidency. None at all.

To be fair, most politicians would fall flat on their face if the questions they were asked weren't pre-screened.

I've never understood it, I'm somewhat socially awkward and have gotten nervous on stage plenty of times yet even I could answer a question like that...

or this one

Marbury v Madison, Roe v Wade, Miranda v Arizona, Brown v Board...

(although I've got a feeling you're implying most politicians are fools who can't think on their feet)

Like I said, she doesn't have the depth of knowledge necessary to lead a country like this. I wasn't defending her at all, I just don't understand the irrational hatred that many members of the left have for her. I've seen people get visibly physically angry when her name is mentioned.

And her calling states rights issues Federalist is lolz.

Also some people are just polarizing. I don't really like or loathe her.  I do think she faced an uphill battle from day 1.  I doubt I have the intestinal fortitude to endure the crap she has, but then again I'm no politician, don't wish for untold riches, power and fame.  I'm more country than her.

Haha...  Think about it though. If the media portrayed obama for who he really is, he never would have won.  Imagine if the had given Palin the Obama treatment.  Who are the real king makers now-a-days?

lolz indeed, and nah I wasn't implying you were defending her, I was making a point to War Man

I don't get why some people on the left hate her, but then I also don't get why some people on the right hate Obama. I don't agree with a lot of politicians to say the least, but I don't hate them. It sounded stupid whenever someone told me this growing up, but hate really is a strong word.

John Stewart and Stephen Colbert tbh. Why? Because laughter is the most effective means of marginalizing any group. Can't beat someone intellectually? Crack a joke that makes people laugh at the other person. You've now silenced them and made their allies uncomfortable. No one likes being laughed at or made fun of. Laughter does more to destroy a persons dignity and arguments than the weightiest intellectual argument ever could. It's the primary weapon the left possesses and they wield it effectively.

I've been saying that for sometime now. We are so quick to call politicians crooks and liars ...and yet we think Rush, Beck, Hannity, Olberman, Maddow, Mathews are incapable of lying.

Galt, Stewart can beat the majority of them intellectually. Colbert, notsomuch.

Right, he has the smarts to back it up. Laughter is still a supremely effective weapon in getting your point across.

I used to be on a different message board and me and this other guy had almost identical belief sets and we were both rather long winded. He ended up being the most popular guy on the message board because he used humor while I became one of the most reviled. We were both saying the same thing but people had completely different reactions to our approach. It was interesting to see it play out.
