At least lowing was honest about his having no qualms in potentially killing people.

On the contrary. Open carry makes you the target first. It draws unwanted and un-needed attention to you. Open carry has a greater chance of the opposite affect to the desired outcomeNic wrote:

So, you don't agree that a criminal is less likely to come at you if he sees that you are well armed. Personally if I was gonna attack a random person, I would never pick the guy that I could see had a gun.Stingray24 wrote:

To me a concealed carry just seems like you would welcome the situation to use the gun rather than have it to prevent anything.
Once you are already in the situation maybe, but if it prevents you from getting in the situation in the first place...lowing wrote:

hahaha, I just remembered something from when I lived in FL. There was a fucking blind guy in our CCW class. Try to wrap your eurobrains around that one. I couldn't figure it out myself, I think they didn't deny him because they were afraid of getting sued.

By this, I mean I think the "Hero boy" complex you have displayed in these forum, most likely from playing video games and too much hollywood. Would make you more likely to cause the situation to come to a point where you could prove yourself a hero, thereby endangering everyone around you. I don't think you have sound judgement in this area because you would want to be the guy who save everyone, instead of being the guy who is put in the situation and does what is needed.

I love the whole comparing guns to cars thing in this thread.
If the bad guys know you have a gun, and you do not know who the bad guys are, you are at a disadvantage. Open carry does not prevent bad things from happening it simply means you are to be eliminated as a threat to their actions before they can carry out those actions. No other way to view it.Nic wrote:

With concealed carry, the criminal never knows who might be carrying. Sure, he'll likely avoid the guy openly carrying, but as lowing said, it may draw unwanted attention, too.Nic wrote:

As to guns and cars, both are tools which can be used for good or for bad. Completely depends on the user.
Cars kill more people than guns do. Irresponsible people driving are more dangerous than irresponsible people with guns.
I'd say they're a great comparison.

Definitely, but do you not see the distinction between something that can be used to kill someone, and something that is made to kill someone.Stingray24 wrote:

One makes it very easy to do. And there does need to be a control somewhere. I would say it is much harder to kill a specific person with a car than a gun. With a car at least they have to be someplace accessible by car.
As I said before, in the same way you could use a car or anything else in your arguments, couldn't you then use the argument that carrying around a RPG, or driving a tank around is reasonable.
I'm not against people owning guns, or even if they are over the top trained in gun safety and first aid, carrying them. I do think however that where you can draw a line between something being made for multiple purposes and something being designed specifically to kill, is a good point to be extremely thorough in creating rules to go with it.
Because they assume everyone in the crowd will be unarmed ...Dilbert_X wrote:

In Arizona:Nic wrote:
I didnt catch this earlier, was his gun registered or not? and did he actually have it modified or not? If it was registered, then yep, failure of laws. If not... Also, if you have a registered fire arm, does it need to be inspected periodically in AZ? or anywhere in the states?
Firearm registration is not required
There is no waiting period to purchase a firearm
There are no "periodic firearm inspection"
If he purchased the firearm from a licensed dealer he needed to complete ATF form 4473 and pass a background check. If he completed the form correctly and passed the background check (it's a phone call, takes a couple minutes), he could pay for the firearm and leave with it then. The process takes less than 10 minutes. Compared to some other states it's
