Holy fuck he has a long name. I'll read it tomorrow - It's time for me to hand the comp over.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

Couldnt have put it better myself. I don't believe in any religion, personally I think its responsible for the state the world is in today. President Ahmadinejad is asking that we all return to basically respecting each other, especially peoples of different religions and holding the core value of all religions.
Undoubtedly people will say its all lies, but if we take it as being the truth then you all have to admit that he is talking more sense than any western leader Ive ever heard off. I think the Islamic Ideological state is feared by the west because its not a good growth area for capitolisim and growth for western cooperations.
I would imagine that the Bush government will pass this off as the rantings of a mad man, but if you read that letter and believe what he is saying its hard not to ignore the points he puts across.
I read the letter along with a m8 who is just back from working in Dubai. He said that he worked with allot or Iranians out there and says that basically they are scared shitless of the USA and they all think that Bush is a madman. Were as here we are told to be shit scared of Iran and that Ahmadinejad is a madman. I hope Bush replies and this situation is moved forward. I would like to read that letter and conclude on who the madman is.

long read. Hope I got time for it later ( somewhere between the gym and UEFA final ).
I started it, and got bored with it halfway through. Basically he's calling Bush a hypocrite, and then concludes by saying that God's justice will be done one way or another, implying that the arabs will be delivered from Bush's tyranny.
He hands us a few smidgins of justification for going to iraq, but for the most part he presents the issue as Islam being the victim and us being blind aggressors.
You can't take this guy seriously. He is a liar. He is a manipulator. And he is not a peaceful man. He is playing hardball, but he is quivering in his boots because he saw what happened to Afghanistan. Then he saw what happened to Iraq. And he knows that he could very well be next.
As damn well he should be. Cram some C4 up his butt and pull the trigger.

That was a long read, and if anyone other than a mental patient of a psychotic leader were to have written it, I might actually concede a lot of points to him.
Unfortuantely, the message got lost on the messenger. Gotta admit, I like his style though, trying to do a point counterpoint with Dubya. Not hard to outwit our president, Ahmedi... Ahmeda.... well, you know who.

IF YOU DIDNT READ THE LETTER, DONT COMMENT!!!!!! this is supposed to be a debate on the contents of the letter which you didn't even read. Instead you come out with a pile of reused buzz words and right wing comments that I am tired hearing. With a user name like G3|Genius I would presume that you might have you own opinions on this or even take the time to read the dam thing. Genius..................more like idiot.G3|Genius wrote:

Skimmed through the letter, which basically threw names, slogansm, classic Arab complaints and other religious bullcrap around. Too much padding. With all the mentions of Jesus, I'm suprised he didn't find somewhere to edge Muhammed into. I guess he's trying to cater to touchy-feely western press...though what he doesn't understand is that Christianity itself us under assault in the US.
What I find amusing is that American liberals will undoubtedly fawn over this letter (with its rows upon rows of Gods and Jesus's) as the gleaming white bastion of common sense, while eagerly bashing any US politician who quips with any sort of religious rhetoric.

I read several exerpts in a news article, and Ahmadinejad brought up a few very good points. He did also say some pretty crazy shit unfortunately. The parts I read were written very well, and in a reasoning tone. I'm not happy with the way our administration has been brushing the letter off.
It should be brushed off. It came 10 minutes before a sanctions vote at the UN. Scripted and Catering to the weaker countries whome dont have the balls to deal with this nut job. But rest assured, If and when(i doubt it though) he gets his Atomic weapon, You will see European countries flock to US for Help in dealing with this guy. Im very sure Lybia and Palistine are just waiting on there delivery of nuclear material.skratch-x wrote:

Seriously, why are you so scared?
And I strongly disagree that it's acceptable to discount the validity of an argument because of questionable context. A good point is a good point is a good point. I just read the entire letter and it was written ver well for the most part.

j/k, come up with something huh?
We "assume" Iran wants a nuke....well give it to them !! They gonna hit Israel ? Oh I don't think so! Why? Well, I don't think it will take long to wipe out Iran from the face of the earth. Don't you agree? If US, Russia, China don't get balls to use them...I don't think Iran will. Anyway, long story short.....I started with "we assume" and keep in mind.....assumption is the mother of all fuckups. Example = Iraq
heheheheh I smell some bad karma coming

It is interesting to read how all americans react to this letter. They obviously can't take it seriously and they start complaining and call the president 'liar' and start making threats on how they are going to 'nuke' and 'invade' Iran.
yeah, ill come up with something. Shifty hit the nail in the head. Its just laughable how the some of the posters here have so quickly started deeming this guy a "nut job" and a "threat" because his country now has may well developed nuclear capablity. Who in the fuck gave americia the right to say whos allowed nuclear weapons and whos not? And guess what folks, the only country to ever break nuclear weapon laws is america. Its quite understandable how iran hates israel after what happenend to the previous occupants of the land. And i do believe the rumours of iran being on the "to do" list for america came out before all this weapon development fiasco. i guess it goes to show how influential the media can be on some. my 2 centsErkut.hv wrote:

Although I liked some of the points in the letter that dosent take from the fact that Iran's President didnt address any of the questions that the summit was about. If their is nothing to hide then why not show the world and quit trying to hide your WMD's progress. The constant Religious overtones make me sick. Im a Christian, and the last time I checked more people were killed in the name of Religion than all other reasons combined. If he is so religious why defend Sadaam and his people who strap bombs to their bodies and kill the innocent in the most cowardly way possible. As far as being a scared american IM NOT. I dont live in fear beacause I live in the Greatest country in the World the USA. Also for the first time in a long time, Im proud to be standing up to the people who threaten the peace of the free world. We are the leaders of the free world and sometimes its hard to be king. So if you slap us ie.. (9.11) then prepared to be Slapped back. Harder.
It's a shame we can't have one single topic in debate and serious talk, that does not have some form of slagging off liberals. It's quite pathetic really.
You forgot the one where he stated that the holocaust was all made up.rdx-fx wrote:

Also from the Iranian President;
"The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world,"
-Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
"As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map,"
-Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
"The Islamic umma (community) will not allow its historic enemy to live in its heartland,"
-Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
"Anyone who signs a treaty which recognises the entity of Israel means he has signed the surrender of the Muslim world," -Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
Cut through the noise and junk.
He's looking to build nuclear reactors - which may or may not be used to develop weapons grade uranium.
At the same time, he's doing ALOT of sabre rattling in Israel's direction.
This is not the best approach, if you want to be seen as a responsible new member of the 'Nuclear Club'.
Also, He would have to be a complete loony, if he were to forget that, though he might be able to make one or two bombs - Israel already has about 300 of them.
Ahmadinejad did when he threatened to wipe Israel off the map.tip700 wrote:

Just plain wrong.tip700 wrote:

By my reckoning, the previous occupants of the land were Jews...or does a groups rights to their homeland somehow expire if you don't like them? If you say the Palestinians own the land by historical fact of occupation, the Jews have a valid claim too. If you say the Palistinians own the land through the historical fact of conquest, the Jews have a valid claim too. Please don't peddle your opinions as facts.tip700 wrote:

"I tell them to study the history of WWI and II. One of my students told me that during WWII, which more than tens of millions of people perished in, news about the war, was quickly disseminated by the warring parties. Each touted their victories and the most recent battlefront defeat of the other party. After the war they claimed that six million Jews had been killed. Six million people that were surely related to at least two million families.
Again let us assume that these events are true. .......
BOO!
It's interesting to see how all foreigners react to what George Bush says. They obviously can't take him seriously and they start complaining and call him a "liar" and say that the only reason he does things in the Middle East is to get a hold on oil.Sh1fty2k5 wrote:

Ahmadinejad makes alot of good points. I think it is sad that some of the readers immediately dismiss his message because of who he is. I think that Iran has taken the 1st step toward peace and is the US should follow. If the US gats into a war with iran it will be 10 times worse than iraq, and no one wants that.
I am American and i dislike when people like Sh1fty assume americans are stupid warmogers based on the comments of a few.

its only a publicity ploy for his own constituents
People like that are stupid themselves. They can't get over their dislike of the USA and immediately start name calling. They assume that all 298,444,215 American's are fat, stupid, and uneducated because they see people like that on T.V.pengunio wrote:
