There are more children being raised in the U.S. with both parents than with a single. There are also more parents in the country who aren't drug abusers than there are drug addled parents. There are also more families with people not in prison then there are families with imprisoned relatives.

Their proportions prove that those things usually have negatives affects.

Yeah but they're only contributing factors.

You're still going to see people from perfect backgrounds and upbringings in prison and the alcohol/drugs is not the be all and end all by any means.
