Basically two little snotnosed pieces of shit beat up a guy on the Metro in DC. Naturally some of the libtards on HuffPost have said things like "kids will be kids," which is funny because when I was a kid I never would have thought of doing that.

Proper rearing. My parents were not deadbeats, they were not drug addicts, they were present in my life and they certainly taught me to be a respectful human being. Where the hell are the parents? 9 times out of 10 in any story about juvenile crime, the parents seem to be less involved in their kids' lives than the TV.

I don't disagree, SERE and Cybargs, but at the same time I can't blame him. I'd rather get a few bruises than go to prison for 8 years because I "beat up" some kids.

@John, some sort of "parenting aptitude test" would be a good place to start.

@Mac and Rukus, true, but a lot of them also turn out to be shit because of their parents. Nature and nurture.

Yes. I'm more disappointed by the bystanders reaction. If it didn't look so bad carrying around a few zip ties every where you went.. Because parents have become more afraid of punishing their own children. So, instead of being afraid of consequences, kids learn very early that they can get away with stuff if they make enough of a scene. Because if a scene is made these days involving a parent and child, other people stick their noses in and throw the abuse card. And it just so happens that a majority of middle-class parents are very concerned with the status quo.

It's not right, but it's what is happening.

Also, I can't imagine there could ever be a "standard" of parenting. You can be as smart and rich and "prepared" as ever...but as soon as you take that baby home it is a big ol' whirlwind of mistakes.
