Visual bookshelf is really acting weird now. And since you cant even display it on your homepage since the fb update there really isn't much use for it so long as there is a superior and more active service out there.

I just read Galileo's Daughter: A Historical Memoir of Science, Faith and Love
It's kind of Ironic that his daughter was a nun considering that the church broke this man. His (illegitimate) daughter was his saving grace, his support. Did you know he was pushing for the Copernican theory because he wanted to save the church from inevitable embarrassment? He was doing it because he wanted to preserve their credibility. After reading the book there is no doubt in my mind that he would have went the way of Giordano Bruno had he not had the support of Tuscany.

I'm not afraid of someone seeing how forever alone I am, I'm more afraid of some internet tough guy deciding to find all my personal information because he's got some beef with me over some insult I called him. And AFAIK, Kmar's got a cooler life than most people on this forum so the correlation seems kinda weak

I have never read Mein Kampf. It scores pretty low in ratings. I don't know if thats because it's actually an awful book, or if it's because people are worried about endorsing anything that is remotely Hitler oriented. There is only one way to find out I guess.

Yeah, I've heard it's just not that great a read. He couldn't get into art school so I imagine it's written like an angsty teenager who thinks the world just "doesn't get" his paintings, but I could be wrong.
