mark fell, one of the foremost minimal sound artists (and part of the SND duo that i have raved on here about before) has just released his first solo double-album. two albums of experimentalism operating right on the boundaries of sound-art, science and computer-science/mathematics. really engaging stuff... the sort of thing you want to put to a visualizer and give absolute attention to for hours. he's also interested in a lot in the philosophy and aesthetic of sound and sound-art in particular, which has been a massive interest of mine for the last few months. a really well-timed release for me, personally.

i have nothing to add. it's going to be one of the biggest electronic albums of 2011. 'post-dubstep'? if you will.

i'm going to be doing a full write-up of this album as a review over the xmas period... i'll post it when i'm done.

Got this after you posted that Jamie Woon song on Gooners' facebook. Such a good remix, though in fairness to Jamie Woon, the vocal raises the hairs on the back of my neck.

EDIT- Uzi, random question, but what's your thoughts on Radio 1 now picking up James Blake and raving about him? Obviously its good exposure to him but does it not piss you off a bit seeing as you've been raving about him for aaaaaaages (rightly so too) and now loads of Radio 1 listeners are like "omg james blake is sick"?

jj. are incredible at creating the sort of drugged-out hazy pop tunes that will catch in your head all day

Zeek, I listened to James Blake's latest album with some good headphones tonight .. well better headphones at least. Wow. I was missing so much when I was listening with my $40 sonys. Especially in the low range. I think I'm going to break down and get some westone 2's next week. .. if I can find a good price.

imo the best producer of 2010 was ramadanman/pearson sound... tastemaking releases on hessle, r&s, darkesteral records etc.

this is the future of london bass music... and that's all the scene really is now. 'uk bass'. dubstep, uk funky, house, garage... it's all going to blur in 2011.
