K so i bought a new soundcard, because my onboard blew balls, I went and just bought a cheaper one the blaster audigy SE. My problem is when i turn my audio settings to anything other that software the in game voices are really choppy sounds like the voices are lagging really bad, any ideas would be helpful thanks

ps and my mic wont work either.

Wellcome to my nightmare. Sorry bro, but you gona have to go out and spent little bit of money, if you want your sound card sound well with the game.

its a creative software driver? would my old on board sound card have something to do with it? i disabled it though???

k so update when i disable my sound blaster card my onboard card will work with my mic.... so why is my new card not working with my mic

That's a problem with Creatives. I had it yesterday with my new x-Fi, and I did these things to fix it.

Also, did you disable the onboard through the BIOS?

1) Reinstall drivers very carefully. Full install, just install everything. I'm not going to argue with Creatives installation anymore, it is the devil. Download updated drivers from creatives website, par instructions.

2) In sound control panel, go to recording, click the checkbox underneath "Microphone" and turn the slider all the way up.

That got it to work for me.

I have the EXACT same problem as you. would be nice to know how to fix it, because when i hear the sound it sounds better but choppy.
