It's not that I can call it a handheld, it's almost 3x smaller than the iPhone and I can do more with it, voice commands, internet, syncronize Windows with my desktop and the normal phone apps.

It's a mobile OS that is already at least 2 years old and was crap when it launched. It's buggy, not at all user friendly, etc. Think of how awesome iOS, Android and, in its own way, Blackberry OS are - WinMo6 is everything they are not.

I have no idea. Getting it for free plus the shipping costs to get from the US to Austria ($45 USD).
A friend and I signed up for one via the Pilot Program and he managed to get one in his name and my parents didn't know that it would be coming to the house in his name, so they told UPS to come and take it back. Thankfully they did that Friday night and UPS hasn't come yet. So they're going to mail it to me and I'm going to play with it for about two weeks before my friend gets it upon his return to Vienna. Then he'll have it for two months or so in the time that I study and go home for a visit in the US. I've asked him if I could have it seeing as how he only got it because I let him use my home address in the States - he says he probably will. We'll see.
As soon as I get it, however, I'll post up pictures and a link to my blog about it. I'm really curious if the built-in 3G is going to work here in Austria. I've not found any info thus far on if it's a CDMA 3G modem or if it's GSM and if so, what bands it supports... we'll find out. I've also got to find a cord that will let me plug it into the wall, but I won't know if I need a full power converter or just a different cable that connects the power brick with the wall. Lot of unknowns at this point, but I hope to find out the answers to the power part of it all this evening when I chat with my parents on Skype.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
