Now that I don't really do anything demanding but game I am thinking about disabling HT. I am not quite sure if its doing any good, more like hurts some titles. Plus HT OFF lowers my load temps by 10c and I need less vcore.

Anyone else here thinking of getting a GTX570? I'm going to wait for the 69xx before I decide, but the GTX570 is pretty tempting...
While my 580 still hasn't showed up, I did take a look at GTX 570 prices in Germany. For 310€ it is very strong deal.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

Good Price for better cooling and performance than the GTX480.
Yeah they kinda screwed themselves on that one huh.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

The 480 was difficult to buy before 580/570, now it's just stupid

I'd say its just going to be discontinued as the GTX570 has filled its slot.
Well then, my 580 is heading my way. I hope it arrives here tomorrow so I get to play with my new toy this weekend.

for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
Has anyone had any experience with Ultimate Ears?

I'm considering the 700's. I would like some feedback if possible.

Zimmer has. I think he's recommended them several times to people on these forums.
http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?pi … 6#p2913806If you want sound quality - Klipsch, UE, Shure, Denon, Etymotic.
If you want sound quality with good bass - Sennheiser
If you want comfort - All of the above, it just depends on what you like.

I've heard nothing but good things about them.. still i like to check with real users before dropping $150 bucks.ebug9 wrote:

From what I understand, they are on par with the Sure line of in-ears.Kmar wrote:

If you can find these anywhere then get them http://www.fischeraudio.com/card.php?id=118
Apparently the best reasonably priced (sub $400ish) IEMs you can get. And considering theyre $150 thats pretty amazing. I've been trying to get them for a while now but they sell out everywhere within 24 hours since theyre so popular.

Though my E8500 wouldn't do it much justice
Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
if you use them while doing any sort of physical activity, i would not buy themKmar wrote:

the cord on mine went bad after 6 months or so. not replaceable under warranty.
I have the same ones as zimmer again (westone 2s), these are a lot nicer, and more comfy, and the cord is a LOT more durable. They're a little bit weak as far as low-end frequencies go, but IMO an excellent buy if your music isn't bass heavy.
Don't buy them. Not worth the price. Cable is poor, sound quality isn't the best you can get for that price and the seal can be a bit iffy at times.Kmar wrote:

They're nice, but too many little flaws with them.
I have Westone 2s and they're fabulous. I've also got Fischer Audio DBA-02s (probably the most sought after IEMs right now, they are constantly out of stock due to mass buys the moment they're back in stock - I know, I maintain the site of one of the main distributors). If you can get your hands on the DBA-02s somehow, I seriously recommend them. I've yet to hear a sweeter IEM when it comes to highs and a good overall balance. The bass isn't the strongest, but not what I look for in an IEM.
Winston has linked to a vital thread that you should really sift through. If you're considering spending any sort of money on an IEM, then you need to take your time over your decision. I would tell you right now to go for the W2s or W3s (if you can afford them) but take a look at that thread. If you really wanna go awesome then try getting the Earsonic SM3s, as they are universally considered the best universal IEMs (without going into custom) and they're a fair price for the quality they offer.
@ Bevo - You're not getting the right seal then, because my W2s hit some very sweet lows and do it with tremendous snappiness. I modified the triple flanged eartips - Changed them to bi-flange and cut off some of the stem... and they give the best seal I've ever had. It's not even an effort putting them in, they feel fantastic and I can't hear anything outside. Try that, the default W2 tips aren't the best - although they work incredibly well with the DBA-02s.
Ultimate Ears does good stuff when you hit Custom level (if you're willing to drop $700 on a pair of IEMs) but their normal IEMs are average, if not under par in comparison with other brands (Fischer Audio, Westone, Audio Technika, Jays, Monster, Sunrise, Head Direct).
If you're willing to spend a bit more than $150, then seriously consider the Westones. I haven't listened to the W1s, but they're meant to be a steal for $139 as well.
The Sunrise SW-Xcape are meant to be incredible for $80. http://www.bugdenaudio.com/store/Sunris … Xcape.html
Take a look around. Once you're willing to spend more than $100 on a pair of earphones you want to be sure you make the right choice.
The 700s are nowhere near the quality of the ones I listed above.
What quality of music do you listen to in order to do justice to the high quality IEMs? 320kbps MP3, FLAC, etc?
Anything above V0 is does justice to high quality IEMs. My MP3 has only a few V0 albums and the rest are 320KBPS, whereas my PC has mostly FLAC.ebug9 wrote:

I am now considering going further and adding a portable amp to my MP3 (Zune HD), which would be this:

Then my next step would be to go fully custom and order some Earsonics EM3Pro's or JHAudio JH11s.
They rape my ears with anything but the complyfoam :\ just hurts my ears after not too long, sometimes the second I put them in.Zimmer wrote:
