it's a bit dumb really. why can't people who know they are behind just not go into the thread.
They will never know when they can start reading some spoilers or not.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
Rick couldn't have been in the hospital very long between the time the hospital was overrun and he woke up. He would have died of dehydration. So, I'd say 2 days (max) went past between the hospital getting overrun and him waking up.

Shane went to rescue Rick's wife and son first thing after he left the hospital. Rick wakes up two days later, spends about 2 days wondering around with Morgan, then heads to Atlanta. 2 days later he's with his wife again.

Basically, a week goes by between Shane getting out of town with Rick's wife and kids before Rick sees them again. Indeed Tucker, something is messed up there.

There's no way the doctor was saying she was pregnant or the kid wasn't his. Surely Carl was Rick's son. The doc must have said something else. However, I can't think of any other thing the doctor would say that would need to be kept secret. The writers are either morons or they wanted a cliff-hanger, I'm going with the latter.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
mmm....in the scene where his friend was at the hospital to save him, the flowers were very much alive, but in the scene when he wakes up, they are super dried out dead...if he was hooked up to an IV then he would not have dehydrated right away. You don't need power for that, they are gravity fed. But that doesn't give that much extra time, so yeah, his wife was cheating before.

Anyways, just making my prediction so I can see if I was anywhere near close later.

My prediction is rick actually died, but was brought back to life by some variant of the virus that didn't affect his brain in the same way as everyone else (Or maybe he is immune to the bad effects of it). It would explain why Shane couldn't hear his heartbeat. It wouldn't be something so "mundane" as the kid isn't Rick's in a zombia apocalypse

But then again, they can read up on the spoilers until a date when a certain epsisode was aired, no? I myself do exactly what you described. Stay out of the topic until I've seen the last episode, just to be sure.

I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping for more from this TV series. The story could be much more interesting, hopefully the good parts are still to come.

I'm going to give it another season and see where it goes. If the show doesn't turn around by then, then it likely will be cancelled.

wow, 6 episodes and that was the only content we got? where was the engaging, exciting storyline?

all i see is 6 episodes, each with a different ostensible purpose to deal with some bullshit 'social problem' or 'hot topic'

this is supposed to be top-rate, high-pedigree tv screenwriting?

literally one of the most disappointing tv series of 2010. boardwalk empire >>> this shit

serisously big spoiler hereSpoiler (highlight to read):
Well in the book she IS preggers and its Shanes.  In the book Lori and Shane only hooked up once and then the animosity between Rick and Shane  rose when Lori cut it off with Shane. Shane slowly goes crazy (much like he is now in teh Tv series) and ultimately snaps.

Rick and Lori hooked up once before Lori found out she was preggers so Rick was thinking it could be his but his intuition told him that smoething might be up.  This was also brought up to him by Dale and he basically said, with things the way they are he doesnt care/ doesnt want to know, he will raise the child as his own.  But im almost sure thats what the doctor told Rick.

So you don't think multiple M4s executing patients @ 150dB would somewhat mask the sound the heart makes? Rick wasn't on life support, when the machine went out with the power, his heart was still pumping quite well.

The doctor wouldn't whisper that she's pregnant to Rick. That would be a total let-down by the writers. Nobody wants to wait 9 months to hear something the doctor didn't have to hide. Not to mention the series would turn into a lame-ass soap opera.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
If it was Shane's kid then Rick wouldn't have gone on calmly as he did.

sigh, he doesnt know that Shane and Lori had sex artard.  She does though, she knows.  In the book she is preg and its Shanes.  Rick takes the route as things are fucked up enough, i dont really want to knwo the truth.  The timeline for this to come out fits with the timeline in the graphic novel, just its presented differently.

Those two points are not spoilers.

Anyway, I hope the writers don't screw this up. I hate seeing what started out so wonderfully end up to be shit à la LOST.

I dont see how they could... All they have to do is follow the graphic novel.  That shit was legendary.

Here's Wiki's synopsis.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
The Walking Dead is centered on Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, his family, and a number of other survivors who have banded together in order to survive after the world is overrun with zombies. As the series progresses, the characters become more developed, and their personalities shift under the stress of a zombie apocalypse, most notably Rick's.

In the beginning of the series, Rick and partner Shane are in a gunfight and Rick is shot and enters a coma. Upon waking in a hospital, he discovers the undead are in the building and town. Rick returns home and shortly decides to go to Atlanta, where the survivors were told to await help, to find his wife Lori and son Carl. He discovers the city is crowded with zombies and bumps into Glenn, a scavenger for a band of survivors. Following Glenn, Rick discovers Lori and Carl are okay along with Shane, who is less than happy that his former partner has returned. He also meets new survivors.

The group searches for a place to call home, settling in a couple of temporary camps, including a prison, which comes to the attention of an insane man calling himself the Governor. The Governor runs his local city, Woodbury, Georgia, like a dictator and tortures Rick (including cutting off one of his hands) and other members of his group, culminating in an all-out assault on the prison. Several of the main characters die in the battle, including Lori and the Governor himself. After the prison is made unsecure by the attack, Rick and the surviving members leave with others to Washington, D.C.

On the way to the capital, they find out that the man leading them, claiming to be in contact with DC scientists, is lying and find that DC is just as bad off as the other major cities.[4] They are eventually recruited to stay in a secluded and secure township on the outskirts of Washington DC. Each person tries to find a semblance of real life, but Grimes doesn't trust the leader of the town, a former US Congressman. He becomes the Constable, attempting to keep the peace in the town. The town is now in danger, as a skirmish with a group of bandits attracts a horde of zombies from DC.

Hey Tucker, do you remember when Shane said...

Spoiler (highlight to read):
This isn't a time to fix your marriage.

...to Lori?

I'm pretty damn sure your theory is correct. Not to mention...

Spoiler (highlight to read):
At the beginning of the series, they're talking about women. Rick claims he doesn't get along with his wife too well.
And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.

Except there was a lull in the shooting when he had his head to his chest. It would be a much better story if Rick was found to have some kind of immunity and needed to find someone that could produce a cure from his blood, than if it went "OMG wife is preggerz n the baby isn't mine, catastropheeeez

If it seriously is that lame of a development I will stop watching it. It's just trying to deal with one more ridiculous social issue that is just ridiculous to cover in a series about a zombie apocalypse
