I Am A Christian Man.  I believe in God The Father Almighty, The Maker of Heaven & Earth.  I believe in His Son and my Saviour; Jesus Christ Almighty.  I believe & live by the 10 Commandmanents as given to Moses.

I'll let that all sink in.


I also believe that God will appear to each & every Man, Woman & Child in a form that will make sense to them.  And "God" may mean "God", "Allah", "Jahweh", "Buddah", "Krishna" or "Cheese".

**YOU** will seek a morality & set of "laws" by which to lead **your** life.  As long as those laws follow this one basic "Law": "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you."


Simplistic?  Yes, very.  For a reason - everyone can follow it.  Do YOU want to be killed for a pair of athletic shoes?  Do you want YOUR funeral disrupted for **any**reason?  Prolly not.  So why piss on another person to make yourself look good?

I wonder how self righteous she would feel if her father sold her into slavery, which is condoned in the Bible.  I'm also willing to bet that the clothes she was wearing are not of pure cloth.  the Bible says wearing clothing made of mixed material is a sin.

Leviticus 19:19 basically says don't let your cows breed with other species of cow, don't mix your crops in the fields, and don't wear clothes made from a mixture of linen and wool.

Only Christian Fundys haven't blown anyone up lately...except a few abortion clinics and Doctors.

Religion isn't an opiate of the masses, in fact Religion itself really isn't faith. Faith is the inner quest for answers to all questions, these cannot be given or taught but realized by the seaker.

These folks protesting the funeral of US servicepersons deserve more than they'll ever recieve. I'd like to salute the Bikers who are out chanting these wingnuts with respectfull phrases which show solidarity against in tolerance. While freedom of speech should be supreme, hate and intolerance have no place in a society based on acceptance of what is different.

On a quick "Levitical Law" note...If you take an honest approach to what leveiticus was in context of the time, say several thousand years before Jesus, it reads like a manual on how not to loose what advances the Judaic culture had made. "Lie not with a man, as you would a woman", yeah..there'll be a lot of babies being born if men were to try and procreate with men..pretty basic if you ask me. "Cast out any who have sores" (or something like that), there are a lot of "laws" based on illness, it's pretty obvious there was some conception of infection in ancient culture. Then there are all of the sacrafical rites which no one follows anymore.

What's my point with levitcal law 001? It is pointless, there's no real reason to literally interpret any part of the bible anymore. The earth is a hell of a lot older than 3000 years, we don't need to protect a fledgling culture in the same fashion anymore and while it is necessary to consider overindulgence in our lives we certainly shouldn't expect the tales of Soddom and Gamorra, Moses and the Arc or any other of the oldest stories to be scientific or factual in any context. Any major geophysical event would have been determined to be "acts of god" in 2000BC. Let's focus on Jesus, being that he is what "Christianity" is named after, who taught compassion and subservience, who made it abundently clear that $ isn't where it's at, who altered the outlook of man as a species by describing community life and acceptance of differences.

Well, even the new testament has some pretty harsh things to say.  Just quickly starting at the beginning.

Isaiah 13:15-18

13:15  Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.    
13:16 Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
13:17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.   
13:18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.

Quick translation means that the women will be raped, and the children will not be spared.

I really hate to say it but one of the main reasons things like this happen in this day and age, is an overwhelming police force. These people wouldn't have tried to pull shit like this 10-20 years ago. Why? because they would have gotten there ass whiped and rightly so. Now a days if someone where to approach such groups who throw stuff down your face in a violent way, that person would be thrown in jail and the courts would be on the protesters side.

Now the only reason I bring this up, is that some of our laws are just getting riduculas. In a case like that where you got people protesting servicemens funeral, you need just to let the family and friends have free reign on that. They are emotionally assulting those poor people who just lost someone close to them and the law shouldn't be protecting them. I'm sure they need permits to carry out the Protest, and in these cases the town needs to say "NO".
