I've pretty much moved to chrome. It's just so much faster for me. It might have something to do with my ff addons. But really, the difference is noticeable. Especially on startup. I'll install some of my ff addons in to chrome just to make them even .

I have Opera, FF Beta 1, and Chrome installed, and the only time I've touched anything but Chrome was to post my question about why shit was fucked up after I had cleared the cache.

I may try opera 11. I think it will support lastpass, which is crucial for me.

Lastpass?

But yea, I've been using Chrome.... for a while now. Started running it so I could have two Gmail accts open at the same time, and slowly started using it more than FF

And nick, it's odd then you were getting that page...

I loved Chrome, but it's constant crashing really put me off. Seems I just got real unlucky with it. I try it again every few months, though, to see if it's fixed.

Two different formats, two different PCs, two different OS'

AFAIK, I wasn't doing anything wrong. It'd seem to happen if I rushed it, like instantly start watching a Youtube video when the page loads. Stuff that shouldn't make it crash and take advantage of it's speed fucked it up somehow, but seemingly just for me.

That's just the magic wand tool on Opera.

E: Infact, there's nothing revolutionary about that whatsoever.. every browser has a password remembering functionality.

I seriously have no idea how anyone could use anything else. IE? Self explanatory. FF? Slow and bloated, need to set up multiple addons to make it usable. Chrome? Don't get me started. Terrible interface, seperate processes per tab? No thanks.

Eh, what? Now that sounds a lot like user error.

Opera comes with

adblock - a FF extension
speed dial - a FF extension
torrent client built - don't even know if there's an extension
mouse gestures - a FF extension

etc etc

I have none of those installed, but you just proved I have 0 reasons to switch even if I some day will.

I must have really bad reaction times, or something. I've never noticed FF being slow, and I couldn't tell that Chrome was any faster - same goes for Opera.

I think the only thing that I might have slightly noticed was that Chrome launched quicker than FF ... but that's not really of any benefit to me as I start my browser probably less than once a week.

So I dropped my HDD the other day, and it broke.. It was a regular 3.5" in an enclosure..

Anyways, it doesn't work anymore. There are lots of clicking sounds and it's obviously broken (doesn't show up in device manager anymore either)..

It has all my movies and music, which would be a pain to lose - any way I can retrieve the files?

Try plugging it in directly with a SATA cable... other than that, not really unless you wanna pay someone a shitload of money to recover it and even then its not guaranteed they can recover it.

take out the screws to the casing and take a peek at it before you toss it, you could luck out and just have the arm knocked to the side or summat

The annoying thing is that I've said to myself for the past 6 months that it's about time I buy a second drive and back it up.. Never happened..

I also lost my iPod, so there goes my chance of recovering half of the music

Oh well, at least a fresh start means I get a much needed cleaning up of my media collection.. Anal tagging ftw

It launches wayyyy faster for me. I could launch 15 instances of chrome before one instance of ff. I notice a difference from page to page as well. Like I said, it might have to do with some if the extensions I have installed. Removing them or a fresh install may fix ..but chrome is suiting me perfect.

Finray lastpass does a lot more than just save your password. Its obvious you've never tried it, which is typical of people who think they have all of the answers. Lastpass encrypts your passwords across multiple browsers/computers, stores credit card information, generates "tough" passwords... and more. There is a good reason that nearly every tech site and pc mag rates it as top notch.

I just watched the intro movie, figured if there was anything worth noting past the default browser password saver they'd put it there.
