one of the best parts of my job is all the buildings I go into, I wish I knew how to post the pictures I took of the Woolworth Buildings Vaults and abandon subway stops that used to be under hotel lobbies in NYC, I can travel almost 8 blocks without going outside there are so many disused tunnels and crap that are connected. Some old buildings in harlem are so cool looking. On the west 40s there are buildings you could play polo in or race cars.

Been reading about this "trend" of tiny houses. I have found some interesting houses. Some very cute and interesting ways of conserving space and money. http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/houses/ for the plans of the tiny houses and small houses.
In reading about tiny houses, I got linked to these Foam Dome houses. I think some of them have potential. I would consider having a home built in this style.

Wouldn't mind having that as a holiday home or as something at the end of a garden for family to stay in but the novelty of living in it would wear pretty thin quickly, saw too many sticking out surfaces and things for me to smack body parts on.tuckergustav wrote:

yeah, the tiny houses are totally for a single person...There is no way anyone could coexist(pleasantly) in such a tiny space. But I think there are some examples that would be great for carting to a wooded lot in the mountains...or to a festival?presidentsheep wrote:

Sonisphere festival do pre-built huts made from some sort of waxed cardboard I think, comes with sleeping bags, cooking stuff, everything you need for camping. They seemed pretty similar to that mini house but obviously not as nice inside. You just abandon it all at the end of the weekend to be recycled or donated to charity. Pretty awesome idea but they were really expensive.
e: just checked prices for this year and they're anywhere between £1000 and £2500 depending on people/how good they are.

I thought of that too, very little start up money would be needed for a venture like that. Just the lease. Since you wouldn't need to really alter the building in any way it would be an attractive way for the buildings owner to create capitol and ease his loss until he found more suitable and long term ( higher paying ) tenets. Then you just find a new local. It isn't like you would need a street front/store front presence to get " walk in customers". Most kids/People have their own PB Guns and travel to distant spots to paint ball. you could even have winter leagues. Video tape the games, have an auditors section. Not as big bux as polo but a much wider build able clientele and probably longer hours of operation, ( more money ) Late night etc. You can see I get excited easy huh ? that has been the driving force in everything I ever did, Raw enthusiasm.Morpheus wrote:

I know Sh*t about paint ball except how they taste. In the sports infancy ( Nell spotters and shop glasses only - there was no paint ball supply and equipment this was about 1980 - 81 ) I had one go right in my mouth, it was like eating a whole bottle of aspirin ~ pour em in and Chew ! yum !

Traverse City is about a half hour from where I grew up. It USED to be creepy when they still had bars over the windows, chain link fence over the porches and paint peeling from every wall. It has been cleaned up a lot. It is now yuppified. There is a very high end restaurant in it now and it doesn't look anywhere as haunted as it used to.DBBrinson1 wrote:

Something about asylums that just frosts me over. The abandon one near Poughkepsie just creeps me out when I see it. I don't freak easy either. I have dug graves in Cemetery's at night alone and other cool stuff.
