1) I don't know how to feel about Shane. He did cause Lori to essentially cheat without knowing for real if Rick was dead or not.
One of the few strays from the graphic novel so far. Shane and Lori werent banging in the comic. They had done once but not everytime she went for a walk in the forest.
^this.  Lori regretted hooking up with shane immediately in the book, made her look sooooo trashy on the show.  But it shows Shane as being more manipulative than in the book, cause in the show he told her Rick was dead.  In the book I don't recall that happening.
I don't think he told her he was dead out of malice--at least it doesn't seem that way yet. It seems that he assumed Rick was dead because the hospital he was in was overrun. But I'm guessing more is going to come out of that little sub-plot...

The only reason I can think for him cutting his hand off was he was slightly insane.... otherwise cut the cuffs surely?

Wasn't he high or had withdrawal? I think the shining cuffs would be in better shape than the rusty stuff he was cuffed to anyways so he could've tried to saw thru that.

I believe he single-handedly climbed down the ladder that Glenn and Rick used when they were escaping the zombies in episode 2.

EDIT: that is the same building, right? Or was that when they building hopped?
You realise the fat black guy never actually locked the padlock properly so the redneck guy could of just forced his way through the door then put the chain back.

let me get this straight

he forced his way
through the door
with one functioning arm and hand
and a bloody stump for the other
into the arms of multiple hungry zombies
killed them all
closed the door and locked it
disposed of the bodies
all without breaking the chain/padlock

who said anything about him killing all the zombies?  they probably all fucked off, or went back downstairs and outside when chinkman was driving around with the car alarm going off

plus you dont know if the padlock ever gets locked or not, Rick just marches up to the chain and cuts it without looking

Well, that was depressing... although somewhat expected.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
You had to figure they'd get raided one day. Glad Ed was finally killed off, hope they put the final bullet in his head so he doesn't piss even more people off as Zombie Ed. Sad about Amy though.

Just watched the first 3 episodes the other day...I kinda like it so far.  I think it is an interesting concept.  We always see a glimpse of what a zombie apocalypse would be like but now we kinda get to see the details.  I love AND hate that the end of each episode leaves you wanting more....lol.

Bone takes a long time.

Unless he had it together enough to think to go through his wrist tendons.
I still think cutting through a small chain is quicker than cutting through your own wrist. Think how long it would take you to psyche yourself up for it, and to make yourself keep going?

it is pretty fucking annoying that i have to wait +1 week to be able to come here and discuss an episode because of the broadcasting schedule...

all you yanks are discussing shit without spoiler tags that we haven't even had air over here. not that it's your fault...

Tonight's episode was alright. Fine. Spoiler Tags. Spoiler (highlight to read):
I disliked the lack of human-zombie interaction, until the end of course, but I enjoyed the confrontation between Rick's gang and the other group stationed in the nursing home. I didn't expect their story to be like that at all. The ending was defiantly needed.  Even though they should have easily spotted the zombies before they entered the camp, the amount of bullets penetrating zombie heads made me forgot all about that minute fact.  Also, Rick Grimes has aimbot, and where did Merrill go with the truck?
And why in God's name is there only two more episodes left? Whenever I think of tv series, I imagine a season having around 20 episodes.

Maybe AMC didn't want to throw too much money at it without knowing how well it would catch on. Now that they know, I'm sure we'll see longer commercial.... like Lost. Recorded, the only way to watch.

Yea they had an original 6 episode deal, they signed on for full twelve for season 2.  I really like the liberties they've taken with the storyline.  Everything seems believable for how the characters would really behave.  I havent found myself saying "Oh c'mon! He wouldnt have done that!"

They've really done a good job with Glenn.  Hes prob my favorite from teh graphic novel.

Good prediction.

Spoiler (highlight to read):
The attack on the camp happens in the graphic novel as well.  Perhaps this could be a new spin on this attack?

Just saw the first episode on Hulu. I didn't really care for these movies much until I saw Zombieland; which lead to Dawn of the Dead (2004) and now I can't get enough of this!

So after the first episode I need to find a way to view the second. I'll probably get an iTunes cash card and get the first season on iTunes. I cannot wait for the second one, this is such an awesome series.

On a side note, I used to hate revolvers, but the one that cop carries is freaking awesome. I'd love one like that! Does anybody know which model it is?

i have to admit that i'm not actually enjoying this as much now

perhaps i'm slowly coming around to the fact that an entire series of zombie action will lose its novelty
