I've also just figured out that all their unskippable menu transition animations exist to cover up slow loading times in a smothering cloud of bright and shiny fail. Still, a black screen is preferable to watching the same tank blow up over and over again every time Zombies flushes everyone out of a lobby.
Wager matches are some of the best multiplayer shooter fun I've had since Timesplitters 2.
Singleplayer feels like it coul've had some potential but it feels lacking
Multiplayer is nothing but insanely small maps and feels like a stripped down version of MW2

I thought the SP was pretty good. Absurd and far fetched, but good nonetheless. It had its cool moments - going through the gas-filled complex in the HAZMAT suit, setting people on fire with the SPAS 12 and running amok on Vietnamese rooftops with time-traveling prototype weaponry - but it also had some frustrating moments too. It took me about 6 tries to land a hit with the guided missile in the rocket mission, the armored NVA ship kept jihading me and the choppers handled like arse. And according to steam, I finished it in a little under 5 hours which is pretty poor, but not entirely surprising tbh.
MP is good, at least when compared with the previous 3 CoDs. The perk/weapon balance seems alright. Every man and their dog are using the FAMAS, but it doesn't seem to be an absurdly powerful gun, just one that gets unlocked early and then no one bothers to try the others. I currently have the SPAS/HS10/Olympia as my most used guns, though I just got the G11 and from what I've seen so far, it rapes face. I've also added the Flak Jacket perk to my kits - it gives near immunity from explosives which is handy to have in the spamfests that are the recent CoDs - though admittedly, there's less explosives spam compared to CoD4.
I haven't had any game breaking issues with lag, though all of the killcams play out like a slideshow. The server browser is pretty broken however, and there seems to be issues with stats saving to the server - I unlocked the FAL about 5 times before it finally saved it to my profile.
Overall I'm happy with it. I didn't expect it to completely blow me away, just act as some run and gun fun, and that's what it did. I'm enjoying it more then I enjoyed BC2 - especially SP-wise - when it was released, but it might not hold my interest as long.
