Why? You don't fold? You don't run Eyefinity/Surround? Aside from 120Hz which other, cheaper cards can do, what else is there? Fap over benchmarks?

Panz has a point, as much as I personally can't justify paying for top end stuff like that...

Nothing beats beeing able to max out every game released recently and still maintain a flawless framerate on high resolution displays...

You yourself have previously noted that there's no point in buying anything above mid-range currently.

Anyway, people buy BMWs over Pugs because there's a notable difference. Going from 16xMSAA to 32xMSAA and 120FPS to 240FPS does not warrant the extra cost

but then again that's just my opinion. Better things to spend the money on.

GTX 480: US$450
GTS 580: US$550

~20% price increase for ~20% performance increase. Fair enough, if you can afford it. My 6800 Ultra was similarly beefy in cost, but lasted me for years. If you don't put together new gaming computers for yourself all the time, it's a reasonable model.
