Oh but they are not fake my friend. They are real numbers since your actions and decisions produced them. Do I think they mean you are ready for war or a sniper competition...no, but they do mean a lot when comparing players.R0lyP0ly wrote:

since ive never played the game on low or medium gfx, i have to say that comparison is quite interesting. when im looking for snipers in shadows i can only tell their positions using the position of the enemy's nametage. the lack of shadows really gives a huge advantage it seems. but i prefer the pretty sights with high gfx and full shadowsEvilMonkeySlayer wrote:

Notice the guy? Look at the shadows etc, makes it hard to see him doesn't it? (everything is maxed out, max anti-aliasing, lighting etc)
Now contrast with...
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~mccasey … een115.jpg
Notice how there are no shadows? If somebody were to hide there I would see them instantly. (same as above except lighting is set to low instead of high.
EDIT: By the way, if Nyte has a card which is similar in vein to my own (X1900XTX) then he'll get no performance difference between low and high lighting. The only reason you'd change it to low is so you can see people easier.
I get a ridiculously high framerate from BF2 with everything maxed out.
Hey, how come you play on medium? You running at a ridiculously high-res or just wanting to have an easier time of seeing people?dont_be_ss wrote:
i have the exact same card as you monkey slayer mine are all on medium.
i only got that card 1 week ago i dare not change the graphics.
if your talkin about sniper k/d ratio then i'll own you at 3.2. don't_be_ss unless my scope was murky i think me and you fought each other the other day and it was 2 kills a piece
Lol, change! Change!dont_be_ss wrote:

You'll have a slight dip for a bit in your scoring, because sometimes people are harder to distinguish in shadows etc. But i've found I gradually got back to normal scoring after a short while, it's just a case of getting used to things.
By the way, is yours a Sapphire X1900XTX?
I've found with the 6.3 and 6.4 catalyst drivers there is a slight flickering that is most prominent on the bf2s forums. (human eye perception seems to be best at the medium browns/greens) It's always there with those driver versions though.
Currently using the 6.2 drivers.
yeah i think it is it cost me £380 is that about what yours cost i got 3 gig of ram aswell

"Sapphire Radeon X1900XTX 512M GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI ViVO" including delivery and VAT it comes to a total of £394.94. (from ebuyer)dont_be_ss wrote:

Do you get flickering on yours?
nope
Damn.dont_be_ss wrote:

This seems to be an issue with only certain cards, i've noticed a few other people have this too from my searches on the globalhypermegaweb.
By the way, 3gig? You can't have them dual channelled then?
I had some extensive SVD testing on SF maps yesterday - it's the most underrated rifle of the game!a fly wrote:
i tried sniping with type 88 and svd, but they lack accuracy, at close range (less then 100 meter) i was shooting at a sniper that was waiting for his plane, 0 hits of 10 shots with the midle of the crosshair on his head.
Once you know the point of impact (the center of the top pixel of the chevron) it's an awesomely accurate headshot machine.
I was absolutely surprised how many running targets I could headshot with just a quick snapshot.
On night maps it absolutely dominates the bolt action rifles and you can defend yourself a lot better when spotted en route to your sniping spot.
People who have a sniping style similar to Nyte's close combat thing should consider using the SVD exclusively - a headshot is a headshot,so the rifles are all equal on close/medium range, this makes the semi-automatic rifles far more effective(if you are very accurate,of course).
After my playing session yesterday night my opinion about the SVD has changed a lot.
Depending on map and situation every rifle has its pros and cons, but on some maps the SVD is king(Devil's Perch). And even more strange about this SVD testing is that I became more accurate with the bolt actions too, after playing hours with the SVD I got insane shots with the L96A1 on long range.
If I would make a video(but I'm sooo damn lazy.. ) it would be half SVD action, half M95 chopper kills.
Use the SVD,people,it's really worth it.
Just looked on bf2tracker, you're 34th in the world for the sniper rifle dont_be_ss.
I'm catching up, currently 834th. Considering a week ago I was around 1000 i'll be up in the top 100 soon enough...

I think I remember this... I was going for all my remaining SF badges and ribbons that day... I got:
Armored Transport Specialist Ribbon
Basic Medic Specialist
Veteran Medic Specialist
Basic Support Specialist
Veteran Support Specialist
Combat Infantry Medal
Marksmap Infantry Medal
All in the same round.
Your friend was in the Apache Longbow all round I believe. This was a 16 player high tickets server. I wasn't even playing as a Sniper. Clan [HT] right ?
Alpha as fuck.
Oohh, our sniper god violates the ROE then,eh?Nyte wrote:

This would include but not limited to:

Indeed.
(Actually, I don't understand that rule... It works out to the same thing if you had played several smaller games).

High tickets mean a longer round which results in high scores and a lot of favorite victims with a high kill number.
Both the case in your stats,a score of 157 on Ghost Town and your favorite victim list is full of "idiots"(who lets himself get killed by the same guy 25 times in a row?).
And don't give me that "that's because I'm such a leet sniper god"-crap,you said:
The Combat Infantry Medal requires 34 minutes in a round (alive!) and I've never seen a round on Ghost Town last that long with the normal ticket ratio of 100.Nyte wrote:

You claim that you don't understand that rule but it boosted your stats pretty well.
If you really want to go on a personal vendetta and get my account erased, go ahead. Report moi to bf2rankedservers.Mj.Blindfisch wrote:

I will play with my newer account with KD of 8 and accuracy of 68 percent and W/L of 2.6.

And what about that new account?
2nd accounts are something for people who can't get over mistakes they made in the past and need awesome new stats so they can keep on bragging what sniper/assault/medic/etc.-god they are without being not taken seriously after looking at their "real" stats.
As for reporting somebody to EA - that's something I'll never do,I consider this to be unethical.
You do whatever you like,I couldn't care less, but it's kinda funny though how nervous you get by someone just pointing out those things like your favorite victim list.
Have a nice day.
actually the ROE on high scoring servers is worng.
EA frown upon them but they are allowed, if they werent it would have been sorted by now. Things like high point servers that are certain weapons only (e.g. knife/pistol) is not allowed.

Now that the accuracy ratings are defined by the number of shots and hits, I thought it would be interesting to add a little twist to the whole sniper debate. Although not all play the one shot one kill role as a sniper, it might cool to see some of the "shots to kills" ratios out there.
Divide the number of sniper rifle kills by your number of hits to see.
me: 1740 kills / 2970 hits = 58.59%
*just realized above is the hits to kills ratio not shot to kill.
Still interesting but the shots to kills would be 1740/5298 = 32.84%
