60 fps for a game that has no explosions or other effects is fine. But when there' s an explosion and your framerate goes to down to 10 you will be forced to reduce your settings or you will watch the explosion that is supposed to last 3 seconds much longer than that. You know what I mean? 60 fps on solitaire is fine, 60fps on BC2 not so much.

I'm just having a conversation. I'm not saying you have to buy the best, hell I still have my 8800GT in for 3 years now and it performs decently. I'm just saying with a "high end" card your FPS won't drop as low as with a "mid end" card, that's all.

mt that's cool. I'm grateful I never had to play BF2 at 15FPS.

i just went and picked up my old computer (RIP) from the store. i was told the motherboard had died.

with that knowledge i was simply planning to use the corsair 850w PSU from it on my new build.

BUT now they tell me that the power-supply is totally broke, as well as the mobo

SO i need a new PSU for my above spec. i5 760, 4Gb, ATI 6870 blah blah.

please recommend a reliable one with enough power. gonna buy immediately. problem after problem with this shit!

Nope 500W would do, thought you wanted another 800 one for some reason. 600W would leave you room to add, if its a good one.
