Loads of the companies at Freshers' Fayre this year had iPads to sign you up to stuff - rather then filling in a hand-written form.
I'm going to dump a load of pictures of one of the most awesome pieces of electronic equipment I've ever owned. Right-click and view the images in their full resolution.
Not only does it have tubes, but it also has transistors, both Germanium AND silicon (Germanium transistors are very old transistors, and inferior to silicon ones in almost every way). I've never seen a device that uses all three of those before.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
If I was F7P, I'd probably orgasm...
But since I'm less of a tech god, I'm going to go with "meh, nice I guess"

This thing is everything that is awesome about old electronics, all condensed into one 4U rack chassis.FloppY_ wrote:

Cool.
Blog about it, Freezer. Edit your Tumblr blog a bit and do it. I think it all looks slick.

what you doing with the 275?
for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
I would imagine he would be able to run it as a PhysX card, would he not?Camm wrote:

I didn't quite like Tumbler, it's a bit too "Web 2.0" for me. I made a Blogger instead, try it out: http://freezers-junk.blogspot.com/CapnNismo wrote:

Is a Cooler Master GX-550Watt enough for:
Asus P5E3 Pro
Intel E8500 Dual Core
ATI HD4870
2 WD 320 GB HDDs
4 GB Ram
Thanks for your answers.

As long as it's not too old, yes.

I would order a new PSU today. Should I go for 600W+ then?
Seeing as new generations of hardware use less power, I'd say it should sufficeSpecial_Op wrote:

My Corsair HX620W will most likely be with me to the day it dies...

A 500-ish Watt unit is more than enough, as long as it is of decent quality. I'd get something like a Corsair VX550 or HX520 if I were in your shoes.Special_Op wrote:
