Wow. That's an exceedingly boring video.

They can jump. I'm building a staircase leading up to the top.

Wouldn't it be easier just to have the water at ground level?

It's tiered like that so all the water flows into a single collection point. When I'm done I'll just have to check two spots every morning instead of doing a full lap.

How do you prevent mobs from just bobbing up and down on the surface of the water?

The current drags them towards a drop 3 blocks deep where they drown. The water then flows out at the bottom through a 1 block high opening and into a trough. The trough then pools at the bottom in a single block hole.

So, ever since I started strip-mining a 5x5 tunnel for a minecart railway, I've had a huge overflow of cobblestone...

https://img801.imageshack.us/img801/1182/map1obliqueanglecaveday.png

I figured I'd use it for a pyramid, and I'm about 1/4 of the way done..

https://img99.imageshack.us/img99/4648/map1obliqueangleday.png

Now, question is, what should I cover it with? snow, water or lava?

I figure sand will look dumb since it's a snow-map

EDIT: Oh yeah, finished my third floor

Water would be a pain. It would freeze at the source and you'd have to make thousands of bucket runs

Nope, I will put a single hovering block above it with torches...

EDIT: Added pics to above post ^

Ohh...so you shouldn't make the drop the part on the same part where they go in the water?

I think you need to make them walk into a waterfall for it to work in a minimal space..

You can do it by using current but it takes up more space...

afaik

Goddamn I just can't do it.

They just bob up and down and look at me with their stupid sad faces no matter what I do.

Edit: OH...you need glass to make the drown. Putting glass where they bump up against the ground makes them get sucked down.
Edit2: Now I have a Cobblestone factory.

Not really... you just have to consider the scale... that Pyramid is freaking huge, and you place everything in 1m x 1m blocks

Growing more cacti
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Yes that is it, there are no recipes yet

Though It makes great base defence since it hurts whatever walks into it
