Ohio Tea Partier Spent Weekends Playing Nazi Games

Apparently Rich Iott candidate for Ohio's 9th district enjoys playing around in a Nazi SS uniform over the weekends.

The dudes role playing. Yes, the websites a bit over the top but it's ALSO part of the role play. Prince Harry used to dress of as Hitler, not because he agreed with him but as a party joke.

Historical re-enactments are quite common.

This is the dumbest news that's come out of this election cycle. Are reenactors supposed to ignore certain units when they play dress up simply because it's the politically correct thing to do or should they... I dunno... try to maintain historical accuracy? There were SS units in WWII and they were some of the best units in the German army. They had the best training, the best equipment, and the best espirit de corps. Fuck, I'd dress up as a SS soldier if I were reenacting simply because it would mean I get to carry this:

Oh, and every single reenacting unit is vetted to make sure there are no neo-nazi's or skinheads playing dress up and living out their fantasies. Each unit is sanctioned by a national organization and if they are found to have neo-nazi's or whatever else in their ranks then the unit is banned from shows. This is why the entire media circus is fucking retarded.

No offence but do you know HOW HARD it is to not get paparrazi'd if you're remotely famous or important? It's not a question of if you'll get photographed or not, just when.

Also, why should someone have to change how they are just to fit societies idealistic image for a certain role? I agree with Galt, getting to carry the MP-44 would be so freaking worth it. Or an FG-42. Or Panzerfaust... etc.

Thousands of people are reenactors in this country. Shit, my dad used to be a Civil War reenactor and was an extra as a Confederate soldier in the movie Glory. He didn't harass the black extras and try to return them to their owners when the filming was over

No, he doesn't. Reenacting is all about reliving history. History shouldn't be censored. Go to a Holocaust museum sometime and they'll have a recreation of a gas chamber. It doesn't mean they want to gas the guests

If you can't see the problem in dressing up as SS then I can't help you.
I'm aware they weren't part of the Wehrmacht. For simplicities sake I grouped them together. There were also Fallschirmjager units which were part of the Luftwaffe but fought alongside Wehrmacht units as well. As I said, for simplicities sake, it's easier to say they were all part of the army, in this case I mean ground troops.
