Both parties' wingnuts need to be kept in check, but the problem is that wingnuts seem to be a higher percentage of our population than in other countries like Canada.

Disturbingly what I most like about him is that he has yet to do anything outlandishly idiotic like his predecessor so often used to. I'm curious though...

...what are you referring to exactly? As far as his foreign policy is concerned - which is of more interest to outsiders like me - I 'm getting the feeling that not much is being done. In his defence though, this standstill is probably due to the urgence of the crisis that overshadows everything else.

This is true.  This is part of why I don't understand how people can consider Obama a leftist.  He's actually pretty moderate.

By European standards, he's right of center.

So, from a First World perspective, America really doesn't have much of a left wing.
