I hate how much people adore that place. It's really nothing special. I rather stay in NJ than live in NYC.

Where I see this rally and see a group of people getting together to protest the ridiculous aspects of society in a humorous way, (which is what it is on face value,) you see this rally and see a group of people with a biased political agenda getting together to protest a specific political group. It borders on conspiracy theory mate.
This. .. however, it will undoubtedly be portrayed as a huge anti-tea party rally by some of the media. Tea partier(z) think that the rest of the world is afraid of/out to get them. If someone can convince you that they are (unfairly) under attack it, in their eyes, legitimizes their existence. They'll claim it's all a big conspiracy to silence them. Even if the truth is the rest of us just want to get together and have a barb-be-que whilst poking fun at the fringe on both sides. You better fucking believe that includes, but is not limited to, people who put on three cornered hats and march around screaming Obama is Hitler. I was outspoken when they did it to Bush.. and I'll be outspoken when it's Obama. It's this kind of nonsense that leaves us needing to restore sanity.

Some of the people Stewart is mocking in the OP video are those who "think Obama is a secret Muslim planning to take over America so he can force his black radical Christianity down our throats." .. yes, they exist!

.. as well as these fringe left people.

these guys look entirely too happy, considering their signs

Also note that in the OP video Stewart mocked those who claimed that George Bush let 9/11 happen to pad Dick Cheney's Haliburton stock (lmao) . .. as well as the lady who charged at Bush shouting War Criminal. There were plenty of hits to the fringe left. Yes the title and location are pokes at Beck. But I don't understand how some of you fellas can ignore all of that^ and think it's just about one group.

I think it's funny how Huffingtonpost is putting together groups to bus down to the rally. HP is the Hotair.com of the left and produces as much insane/stupid crap as Drudge.

This may have been a 'Rally to restore sanity' but it sure is being hijacked by the part of the left who feel they have to respond to Beck and the tea party.

I assume it is a gay march on DC considering the fags that are hosting it.

Comedy Central and MTV are AstroTurfing little bitches.

You may have heard that Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are hosting a little get together on the National Mall in Washington, DC on Saturday, October 30th. ... This will be a day when - no matter what transpires from Jon, Stephen, and their special guests - our brothers and sisters at Comedy Central will own the cultural conversation, without question. Who would want to miss that one?

On the morning of October 30th, we're loading up a fleet of buses here at 1515 Broadway and sending as many of you as we can down to DC for a free one-day, round-trip journey to join in the Rally to Restore Sanity and March to Keep Fear Alive. It's about a 5 ½ hour trip down 95 to our nation's capital[.]
So go on, fall in line, step on those buses.  Drink the koolade and vote of the big, empty O.

Lol @ link. The guy writing it assumes there would be an embarassing turnout, which could only happen if people are too moderate to go and attend a rally like all the crazy right and left wingers do. I look forward to seeing how this turns out, though as Macbeth pointed out, it seems the left are taking this as an opportunity to respond to the right, which isn't really the purpose (as that is the problem with politics and such)

Yep, and I'm sure there was astroturfing at the Beck rally too.

See, this is part of why I think rallies and protests are just manufactured.  It's very rare for a protest or rally to be free of things like astroturfing.

News Corp gave 1 mill to the Republican Governors Association, and the Gov leading it is a big Tea guy, but....  I'm not surprised that Fox covered it when the left at first ignored, then mocked em.  But Fox didn't all but demanding that their employees go and that's the AstroTurfing I'm alluding to.  I am a bit pissed as yet the hard religious right hijacked the tp (just like they did the Rep party).  Those guys really piss me off.

I had a feeling this would get hijacked by various groups when it first started. This one is now going to be filled with left - rather than right - wing nutjobs like the HuffPo.
