No debate just serious talk. Don't punt it to EE.

Anyway, let's talk about architecture. Personally I really have a thing for Gothic architecture. I absolutely love the fact that New Jersey is littered with Gothic style buildings.

My old highschool was designed in that way, I loved the look of it.

I know it has nothing on a lot of other Gothic style buildings but I like it.

Also say what you want about Catholics and Muslims but their churches and mosques are pretty nice looking.

A church in my town, the pictures do it no justice really.

And the Blue Mosque at Istanbul. Absolutely beautiful.

which were most likely converted from old Pagan temples.

Sort of like how the Cathedral of Cordoba was a Roman temple then a Catholic church then a Mosque and then finally a Catholic church. The blue Mosque though is original IIRC.

there is a large lack of gothic architecture in west america - as it is the "new world"

I'll see if I can get some pictures of a friend's house.

He's a retired architect, disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright.
His home is beautifully laid out for living in, rather than to look cool in Architectural Digest photos.
Between Wright's Fallingwater and Tazz's postmodern example above, but laid out with a hexagonal/equilateral triangle motif.

He's a rather private fellow, though.
