Rise Against is the easily the best band out there lyric-wise; all of their songs have so much depth and opinion stuck in them that...argh. Can't think of any other word except amazing.
They must be doing something right if they're pissing off people on the internet to the point where they write long essays about their hatred for Rise Against.
Also,
"Hey! I think Band X is great!" "LIES! Band W is much better, Band X is shit!" "Fuck you, Band Z is the best!" "Hey, my opinion is fact!" "NO IT'S NOT, my opinion is fact. Face it guys, Band W is mathematically proven to be the best. THAT'S RIGHT FUCKERS, MY OPINION IS FACT."
Ur rite, I lack any real talent and berating 14 year olds on Internet Forums is my actual sole occupation and station in life.
my bad....credit where credit is due.
you also play in video game tournaments
I'm also gaining a University education, leading an active social life and indulging in various hobbies- one of which is flamebaiting Forums.
Video game tournaments, if you'd have checked the games stated in the profile you would know that I clearly haven't played in one for a while, at least 6 months . Nice job on the background research though man, that made your comment so much more well informed!
try that more....pretty soon you are going to find out what a vagina is. trust me, its gonna blow you away.

there was no background research. i made an assumption, and chose right. funny how stereotypes are right on sometimes... and i dont want to check out your uber-l33t profile dude.
No, RA is not the end-all-be-all of lyric masters, but they're better than most of the shit that's out there today. Go ahead and prove me wrong on that.
They're stuff is pretty good, and if you can relate in the least the music is just that much better. Just like half of you likely hate Linkin Park, but if Mike did most of the singing I bet most of you would change your minds. It's just an acquired taste in a sense, and you either like that kind of music or you don't.
Well, this album has truly shown it deserves its own thread to me. I've listened to it a couple times, and damn, it is a good album.
Hero of War is easily the best song of the album. The lyrics are amazing, as usual. Rise Against is the easily the best band out there lyric-wise; all of their songs have so much depth and opinion stuck in them that...argh. Can't think of any other word except amazing.
Give it a listen.
I agree Appeal to Reason is an excellent album from a band that rocks pretty hard. High five
Whoever said RA had 'the best lyrics' couldn't be more wrong. If you're looking for a brilliant lyricist within the genre, the only real answer is Greg Graffin of Bad Religion.
"Don't Pray On Me"
A grizzly scene on my electron beam Told a story about human rights So all of King's horses and all of King's men Had a riot for two days and nights Well, the city exploded but the gates wouldn't open So the company asked him to quit Now everybody's equal Just don't measure it
Well, Hanson did it to Hester And Mark David did it to John And maybe Jack did it to Marilyn But he did it to South Vietnam For beauty and glory For money, love, and country Now everybody's doing it Don't do that to me
A bitter debate and a feminine fate Lie in tandem like two precious babes While the former gets warmer, it's the latter that matters Except on the nation's airwaves And custodians of public opinion stayed back After vainly discussing her rights Lay hands off her body It's not your fucking life
Now I don't know what stopped Jesus Christ From turning every hungry stone into bread And I don't remember hearing how Moses reacted When the innocent first born sons lay dead Well, I guess God was a lot more demonstrative Back when he flamboyantly parted the sea Now everybody's praying Don't pray on me
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough." -Frederick Bastiat
i think that was me. the only song i have by bad religion is live again
Download the discography. Today.
Btw, uzique's theme song should be:
"Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don't you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough." -Frederick Bastiat
just recommend one album to me and i'll listen to it. whenever i download discographies i decide to not listen to any of it. case and point - modest mouse and pepper

Depends on how far back you want to go. They've been around since 1980 so there's a lot of stuff they've done and a lot of different sounds along the way.
The older stuff is garagey like this:
Then there is this from Recipe for Hate:
This is from Process of Belief:
This is from The Empire Strikes First:
This is from New Maps of Hell
I like them all so...
