My previous, previous graphics card was a 256MB Radeon 9800 Pro. I played most settings on low/medium. When I got my 512MB BFG 7900GTX with all the settings maxed out I found it's more harder to spot people, especially with more detailed lighting adding shadows etc.pwned7 wrote:

I've sent back my 7900 because it's faulty, now got a new one. Sapphire 512MB X1900XTX.
The reason Nyte probably plays with his lighting settings on low is so he can more easilly spot people. I personally prefer turning up everything for the challenge of it.
If you want I can take a few screengrabs to illustrate things for you? (when I get home and plugin the new graphics card)
As to the SVD/Type 88, i've personally not used them since I first started playing when I played the demo. As a sniper I prefer the extreme long range shots of which the L96A1, M24 and to a lesser extent the M95 are best suited for.

I'm just wondering why you people actually believe that nyte is a good sniper. Because he is definitely not. Many of the poeple who play the assault or spec ops class would be very good snipers if they had the patience to be.

i think its true... i back cuttthroat kommunist and sgt_bobo up in saying they they arent good snipers... this is what i thought long time ago but didnt want to say anything cause i cbf lol... i think that people judge snipers on how many videos they produce... lol... so the more videos u produce the better u are sniping.
when these so called "1337 snipers" produce videos, im pretty sure they are recording their best sniping they have done. if every1 had recorded their sniping, they could cut out the best shots they had done and leave the rest and make similar videos to nyte and the other guy (cant be bothered scrolling up and finding his name )...
to me their video is prolly average sniping, cause u must pull those shots off the be a sniper imo...
as for gene_pool, ur a noob too, even without a good KD ratio

Notice how there are no shadows? If somebody were to hide there I would see them instantly. (same as above except lighting is set to low instead of high.
EDIT: By the way, if Nyte has a card which is similar in vein to my own (X1900XTX) then he'll get no performance difference between low and high lighting. The only reason you'd change it to low is so you can see people easier.
I get a ridiculously high framerate from BF2 with everything maxed out.

i'd actually have to disagree with you there. we were getting swapmed by the PLA one time, one of those the-whole-fricking-army-is-running-through-the-2-towers, etc. I kitted out with a Type 88, and proceeded to get 2nd in the round (with like 39 kills, most all fromthe T88). Try aiming so that the "bottom" of the horiztonal xhair is just touching the top of thei head. That should do it.
