Is it still worth the monthly fee or no? I was thinking about potentially getting into it but I don't want to play a dead game....
no it is fucking awful and the population has now dwindled so much that now there are only 2 servers- one with each faction.

WAR and AoC are on equal tiers of fail-dom, tbh.
"play WoW" would be an ordinary recommendation but WoW is for fucknoobs nowadays.

what social circles are you in? the dungeons and dragons society?
no you don't, dude. WoW is casual and takes up 5 hrs a week. Warhammer has had a social stigma since i was about 12.
and more to the point, why the fuck do you care what people think of what you play in your spare time?
you sound like a socially insecure moron. play what you find fun. who cares what other people think? such a teenage mentality.

lol? are you butthurt or something? I was just asking for an opinion before I go and make an investment in a game....not everyone has money to throw around like hotcakes on monthly fees, and also go look at all the anti-wow posts/threads and tell me there are no anti-wow groups or people. Now tell me how many of those posts or threads have warhammer in them...none. I've never played the tabletop and don't know much about it I was just looking for another mmo to get into and from the looks of it WoW isn't one of them because of the shit you've been giving me for speaking against it...Uzique wrote:

look mate it's not hard, is it?
how many anti-WoW groups are there? an inconsequential number. there are 15 million subscribers.
how many anti-WAR groups are there? the entire critical establishment thinks it's a shit game. there are 2 thousand subscribers.
is it really surprising that there aren't so many vocal anti-WAR groups? IT'S BECAUSE NOBODY PLAYS THE FUCKING GAME.
i dont play WoW. i don't even like WoW anymore. im giving you shit because your mentality is immature and retarded.

so your retarded looking for advice before purchasing something? I don't see how that logic makes any sense....Uzique wrote:

I'm not defending one game or another....I've never played WoW and I've never played WAR I just wanted to see if WAR was worth the money or not.
From what I've seen people say about WoW it's the exact opposite of a casual mmo. A casual mmo would be considered Guild Wars.
But again, this is just from what i've read and heard as I have never played WoW but I have played GW.

your logic about 'anti-WoW versus anti-WAR' is retarded. the number of people hating on the most popular MMO of the last 10 years exceeds the number of people publicly hating on an MMO that is dead and has no community? my my, surprising! that's like saying there are more vocal critics of battlefield 2 than there are of world of tanks: beta. doesn't make world of tanks an inherently 'better' or 'more appealing' game. it just means nobody has heard of it or nobody cares about it. simples.

Well obviously people have heard and cared about WAR because your sitting here arguing with me about it. If you didn't care you would have never posted in the first place....Uzique wrote:

I'm not saying WAR is better than WoW or vice versa, all I'm saying is that the anti-WoW groups are much more vocal and visible than the anti-WAR groups and therefore we see them much more publicly. I've never gone and searched for an anti-WAR group but anti-WoW groups constantly fill my xfire and steam group list whether I want them to invite me or not, never has an anti-WAR group done that which is why I feel WoW has a much more negative stigma attached to it than WAR. Besides, you said it yourself, people don't know or don't care that you play WAR but if you say WoW your instantly hated on in some groups and forums just because that's the game you choose to play, that never happens with WAR.
Also, WoW's playerbase is not so much because it's a good game, but because it's an addicting game. Any game can be good for 10-20 hours but fizzle away after that, what keeps players is the addictive nature which I feel WoW has accomplished, but for something to be addicting doesn't mean it must be good.

you're talking utter shite about games you know NOTHING about.
ive played both, a lot. WAR is a terrible game. WoW is not a 'popular' game because it is 'addictive'. rofl.
literally rofl'ing. yes they include crack in the source-code: it's a bad game, but you get HOOKED!

why else would people play a game that long non stop? It has to have SOME source of addictive nature to it. You can be addicted to anything.....I never said it was a bad game as I have never played it (which i said multiple times) but all I was saying is that people hate on it so much because of its addictiveness. I would not classify WoW as a "casual" mmo and neither would many other people.Uzique wrote:

many of those people wouldnt have played it for 5 years and many of those people wouldnt have a clue
you can experience everything in WoW with 5-10hrs per week. it's as simple as that.

i didn't want to say that, though, because comparatively it's still 10x better than the shitpile that is WAR
i played that in beta, and heavily during the release weeks... and it did NOT deliver. categorically a bad game.
