What the best way to screen capture XBox 360 as HD content?  I've tried a feed to a DVR, that then feeds to the LCD, but I'm getting noticable lag.  Hardware recommendations?

The wonders of a browser on a USB stick, using Facebook at my college(nubs have it blocked). I was wondering if any of you guys know of a Mozilla Firefox USB Browser? The one I have at the minute is an Opera one.

Some of you may remember that I've had some bad luck with the 1TB Samsung F1 HDDs: I've had countless die. Up to now I figured I must have gotten a bad batch. But this morning the replacement drive for another replacement drive for a faulty drive clicked itself to death. WTF samsung?

Could it be PSU spiking and Samsung HDDs are just so sensitive?

Oh dear, Max. I hope I'll have better luck with the F3 I'm getting tomorrow.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I've been running them with all sorts of different hardware configs. At first I thought I was just unlucky. Seems like the drives are just shit. Maybe it's time to retire those drives and pick up a couple 2TB ones. I'm out of space again anyhow.

My F3s are all chugging along nicely. No problems so far (1.5 and 2TB disks)

I must be very lucky with my F1 320GB. It's been running fine for almost 14 000 hours (over 1,5 years of spinning) by now.

How'dya know the estimated hours?

I've used F1s for several systems, never had a problem with any.. My own PC has had a F1 1TB for much longer than a year, still running like new...

I picked up the drives when they just came out ~3 years ago. They've been running nearly 24/7 since then. Server duty can be pretty stressful I guess

I've got 3 Samsung F1's and have had a single problem. Been using one non stop for about 2 years, the other for about 1 year and the other for about 3-4 months.

Am I lucky? or is there something killing your HDDs

Reminds me of the old Maxtor flop, where the cable connecting the arm to the logic board would get worn down in computers with too little RAM, because they had to use the swap file all the time.

Does anyone know how I can setup a vent-music-bot while keeping itunes playing through my external soundcard?

:S

If itunes could play through both my onboard and external that would be a fine solution... I don't know how to do that.

Why not just use another media player?

It doesn't matter. It's the load temps that count, since you probably have a fan controller in your machine, making it run more quietly while unloaded. If you load it down, the fans will rev up according to your temperatures.

I think my GPU is running really hot but I cant tell which Everest temperature is more important.

GPU Diode (DispIO)    72 °C  (162 °F)
GPU Diode (MemIO)    84 °C  (183 °F)
GPU Diode (Shader)    77 °C  (171 °F)
GPU VRM    68 °C  (154 °F)

I'd like to be able to play what I'm listening to and not have to control 2 audio applications.
