Yup. Pirated Rome, which was what really got me into the Total War series. Without it, I probably wouldn't have touched the games, let alone purchased them. Most demos are too shitty to base a purchase decision on.eleven bravo wrote:

Music downloaders are Audiophiles. This make sense.
I wonder if this is the same for movies?
the 'convenience' distribution models actually work more in favour of anti-piracy... funnily enough... 'hard' formats like CD with all their anti-piracy measures are increasingly less attractive to me as a consumer. i'll even pay a premium-price (compared to ordinary shop retail price-tags) to download the game from a direct-digital source, e.g. Steam or Blizzard digital store.Harmor wrote:
I've heard of a model where cloud-based PC game rentals will allow you to play the full version of the game on a hourly or monthly fee.
And I'm not talking about OnLive.
Personally I don't buy boxed software anymore...I use services like Direct2Drive where I purchase the CD-key and can download the game if I want (usually just borrow the install disks from a friend instead of downloading the Gigabyte files).
