Some of the corps have already dispersed to IT, IT renter alliances, and Brick squad. Russians are currently filling insmother/detorid and will most likely fill what's left over with renters. I've read that remaining corps in Atlas will be kicked in a few days.
I joined a corp within Atlas like 4 months ago looking forward to awesome campaigns and a chance to use the revelation I trained up for. Sadly, Atlas went mostly afk right then, and as we learned in at least one skirmish in 0-W, dreads are now obsolete(aka moms are fuckin beasts now).

So. What happend - a.k.a. the end of a giant.
The end really started earlier this year with the Southern Crusaders invading the Northern Coalition space. IT, Atlas where the two biggest alliances in this assault. This assault was doomed from day one. As IT had allready begun attack, without Atlas and allies in place. We eventually failcascaded in h-w, where we lost shitloads of ship, and Atlas said fuck-it, we are going home.
Then the Russian/PL combo invaded started attacking Atlas Renter space, we never got our numbers up to defend the renters. Detorid (C-J6) was next, and succesfully defended for about 7 times in a row. Then PL, in a blitzkrieg mode, invaded 0-w778 with a 30 man fleet, hotdropping a 110+ man AB HAC gang, followed by 20 MS's. Later that night the count was to around 20 Titans, and 90 Motherships in 0-w778 local. AAA tried to come and help us, but got ambushed by IT. And so the failcascade began. 0-w fell, followed by GB-, C-J, 77s, 66 and finally AXDX, completelly overwhelming Atlas primary stations and assets. CSAA's were destroyed, but we managed to get out a lot of gear and supercaps out while fooling the Russians with a 'deal'.
And now, all that is left of Atlas are 5 corporations, with Priory (my corp) being the leading corp now, but Atlas will soon fold.
The days of giants have passed, all hail the Motherships.
