So I was on one of my usual servers, Insomnia365 24/7 Sharqi, tonight, with a couple of friends. On our way to the Surveillance Post control point, he suddenly starts phasing in and out of the screen, jittery as hell. Suddenly over Xfire he yells, "Holy shit, look at my ping!!!"

Indeed, holy shit. Look at his ping:

It was like that for a good minute or two until he realized someone else in the house was sharing the bandwidth to upload a bunch of stuff. A one-second ping? Yeah, I think it's safe to say that'll hurt your K/D ratio...

No, this thread doesn't have a point really, just wanted to share the first time I've ever seen a 4-digit number in the ping column.

Pings usualy Ultra high when sumthing intracts with BF2 I.E hack program , or if he had nother downloading program runing in BG I.e if I was runing Bearshare in BG and tryed playng BF2 i would get ruffly same Ping, If I see that i usualy tell them to stop downloading Porn

if the guy has High Ping and High Score chances are his hacking :-).

My friend hacking? His stats could use some l33t h4x but I'm confident he's never touched the stuff. I did however hear him repeatedly yelling at his sister in the other room to "quit uploading shit", until she finally went to sleep and his ping decreased by a factor of 10.

But until she hit the sack, it was a bit like trying to play BF2 on a 28.8 Kbps modem. (Remember those?)

Dial-up? How's that for BF2? Lots of "there is a problem with your connection" messages, or is it just really jerky all the time?

i have a wireless router and it interferes wiht my connection, i was lagging so bad and was getting mad, so i just ripped it out and put the jack directly in. It kicked me out of the game, but it solved my lag when i played later.

Highest ping I saw was 1350 but it was on Battlefield 1942. Coral Sea, and the server message was like "attention bumface, your ping is 1200" and I was like "WTF", hit tab, and it spiked up to 1350. He sat on the server for another 2 minutes and then left. 1350 ping you may as well walk the damn signal to the server.

That is pretty bad though. Lags the server and its like youre playing in a strobe light. All slow and in 1 frame.
