They bashed the charity he heads that also is funding the community center. They've referred to him but not by name (for obvious reasons).11 Bravo wrote:

"...a number of these leaders from the Muslim World who are supported by organizations like the Kingdom Foundation which has been a funder of Imam Rouf in the past. The Kingdom Foundation, so you know, is this Saudi organization headed up by the guy who tried to give Rudy Guiliani $10 million after 9/11 that was sent back. He funds radical madrassahs all over the world."
That guy is Talal.

Well, the main issue as I see it is that it seems to be a pretty blatant demonstration of them assuming that few people watching this show would bother to research their claims.
Given the level of protesting we've seen so far with this community center, I'd say Fox and many others have done a great job of riling people up while still keeping Talal's connection to the center mostly under wraps.

Maybe they're playing the long game, when Fox change their mind and come out in favour they'll have their tame audience behind the mosque.Turquoise wrote:

Fuck Israel
I do. If I discovered a blatant hypocrisy on the part of either, I would post it as well.11 Bravo wrote:

The main hypocrisy I've found with Maddow is when she was blasting gun rights activists as being single issue voters and likening them to prohibitionists. This comparison was hypocritical in two respects.
First, gun rights activists are protecting a right -- not removing one.
Second, prohibitionists were progressives in their day, and Maddow calls herself a progressive. While progressivism has clearly changed a lot since those days, the analogy still seems a bit illogical coming from her.
hmm... an interesting possibility....Dilbert_X wrote:

you dont represent their entire audience (even though it is rather small). so, you know damn well most people dont. they go with whatever they feed to them.
I'm not debating that. But again, so far, I haven't discovered anything on par with this coming from them... yet.11 Bravo wrote:

Now, John mentioned that Huffington Post is owned by a conservative. That could lead to some interesting possibilities.

TBH, I don't know where he gets that from. I have heard no such thing.Turquoise wrote:

He claims to know the president of HuffPo and that he's a conservative. I looked up Greg Coleman, but I couldn't find much on him besides his past with Yahoo.Macbeth wrote:

You'd have to ask John more about this.

So actively paying people to stir things up about a controversy you're involved in isn't hypocritical?..11 Bravo wrote:

once again you are not looking at it. they know damn well it will be a hot topic. get opinions from both sides, which they do, and it makes for good tv. nothing wrong with that.Turquoise wrote:

I haven't seen them spend much time on voicing support for the community center.11 Bravo wrote:

Seriously though... have you seen anyone on Fox actually voice support for the community center -- and not in a context where the person is obviously being attacked for holding this stance?11 Bravo wrote:
