i have a moleskine that i keep on my desk at all times and i am very often grabbed by the compulsive urge to write shit in it.
even if it's just like inane babble or blog-type crap; even if it's like teen-girl diary entries; even random lists, organizing my life.
writing shit is cathartic. i might pen a saga about vampires and werewolves and shit.

really is one of my enduringly-favourite artists of all time... gives me butterflies and makes me all age 14 again
you're telling me nobody else writes lists? i thought it was human nature to try and sort through the jumble of interior monologue and exterior sensations/stimuli and to try and construct some sort of 'order' out of it. isn't that essentially what all the sciences and areas of studies are, on a shared and structured basis? only this is like... personal structuralism. sometimes if im feeling stressed or like i have a lot of shit to do, i'll write it all out in a bullet-point list and just having it there, controlled and minimized into one little summary, will make me feel like im on top of it. even if the bullet-point list details ~50,000 words of essay-writing and 20 books to read. condensing it into 5 neat points gives me sweet relief.AussieReaper wrote:

i dunno im kinda captivated by the whole idea of expression and of recording transient feelings and ephemeral sensations into words. there's something mystical about capturing the essence of your every-day experience / human life and transcribing it to a page, so that you can call up that part of your memory or evoke that particular feeling/emotion at will. it's powerful.
one day im gonna stage a play and it's gonna be pure and truthful.
