Chuck BC2 on it, even my 5770 can do BF2 at 1680x1050 16xAA/AF forced through CCC.
Make sure to use the multicpu flag for that hexacore you got yourself.

I haven't done shit to BC2 and it runs on all cores of my i7.Finray wrote:
At least when I was playing BC2 it only utilised 2 cores until I used that flag, then all 4 cores were loaded. Maybe got patched out.

Were you playing the beta?Finray wrote:

That's what I thought. Rather lame, too, considering that pretty much everyone had a dual core back then..Sup wrote:
No because BF2 doesn't support multi-threading therefore only one core is utilized.CapnNismo wrote:
You think BF2 is even using all of my six cores? I doubt it, just curious what you guys say.
Thats nothing, STALKER games are still single threaded.CapnNismo wrote:

BF2 was released in 2005CapnNismo wrote:

Well isn't the engine code ~8 years old by now?GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Whoa, BF2 was 2005? I thought it was newer than that. My bad.
Eh, the NF-P12 is arguably the worst fan you could put on an Accelero S1. Should've gone with an S12B.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
Accelero's mounting was bent like shit, fixed that. Also the old thermal paste was all over the GPU chips arounds (not good btw) so cleaned that too. Put some better paste there and decent fan. She's all good now.

P12 is heatsink fan, S12B is case fan and doesn't move shit air if there is anything on its way.Freezer7Pro wrote:

That's the point. The Accelero is supposed to be passive, it offers very little air resistance. Just look at the spacing between the fins.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

More performance fan never hurts, especially when I had one on my shelf doing nothing.Freezer7Pro wrote:

I never said that you should run it passively, I said that its original intent was to be passive; thus the lack of proper fan mounts.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

If I wanted it to be passive it wouldn't have a fan.
Only thing better about the S12B is that it would be tad more quiet. That argument goes to bust as soon as you figure out there are 2 1450rpm Scythes on the Megahalems.Freezer7Pro wrote:

The point I'm making is that the P12 is un-necessarily powerful for the cooler. You need almost no pressure at all to push air through it. If you had a spare one, I suppose it's better to use it than most other fans, but a S12B would be yet a better option.
That, and that it's usually a tad cheaper. If you don't care about noise, either will work, of course. Both are great fans. Since you had a P12 lying about, it's obviously a better option than buying an S12B from an economical perspective.GC_PaNzerFIN wrote:
