The democrat says You can't do it on your own. I want to give you* money and
eventually my plan will work. If I am right you won't need me anymore

If their right, as a direct result. Then the democrats would be out of a job,
as would all the people in the Housing, Welfare and Government assistance fields,
the Bedrock of their Voter Base.

Little does it matter what they each said they would do, and of even less importance is your personal interpretation of their claims.

In practice what did they do? I'm sure it's all business as usual down there no matter who's in office.
