My mouse speed seems to have halved since moving to windows 7. In XP, I disabled all mouse acceleration through the registry and the mouse control panel so my mouse movements were a perfect 1:1. I installed Win7, and my mouse felt half as slow. Upping the speed and removing precision didn't help as it made the cursor feel very jittery. I removed mouse accel throug the registry, too, but it didn't do anything. It feels like someone switched my mouse to 400dpi from 800dpi, but you can't do that with this mouse. Any ideas aside from getting a new one?

i LITERALLY noticed this yesterday to GREAT agitation whilst playing team fortress 2.

i have also recently upgraded to win7 and neither the logitech set-point software (for my g5 gaming mouse) nor the system-settings changed anything. i went away and replaced my steelseries steelpad with another spare one i had lying around, thinking the traction/quality on the surface had finally eroded away. i changed my in-game sensitivity, messed around with the DPI of the mouse and even upped the refresh rate to the maximum amount possible on the USB2.0 interface. mouse accel and all forms of pointing-aids have been disabled. the mouse feels slower or like it's 'missing' traction whenever i move horizontally, from left-to-right. up and down axis feels fine.

it's an eternal fucking pain in team fortress 2 and yet another reason why i am lamenting ever choosing to 'upgrade' to this piece of shit. so far windows 7 has fucked with my sound (messing up my EQ, my settings, and now half of my in-game noises just don't play altogether), my mouse settings (for what reason, i do not know) and my file organisation. this OS sucks dick.

best of luck finding a solution-- im definitely interested in finding one, too!

I've not had any issues with Win7 since upgrading. The only thing is that playing CS 1.6 at 1080i is a bit weird for my eyes, I think I need to lower the resolution so that way the refresh rate is a little higher. Been playing for the past 3 years on a 15" screen and now a 21" is quite the difference.

Did you upgrade from Windows Vista to 7, or was it a clean install?

I recommend uninstalling the drivers for your mouse completely, restarting, and reinstalling them again - using newly downloaded drivers from Logitech's website. Though, Windows 7 will probably detect some drivers for you to use once you've uninstalled them.

I have had 0 problems since upgrading to 7 ... though I did do fresh installs, not upgrades. Generally, I think upgrades have always sucked.

what liquid said.

Uninstall setpoint, shutdown comp and plug in a crap mouse, reboot, reinstall setpoint, shutdown (or restart if your quick) and switch back to your logi.

Should find the model of mouse once you start up.

This was a fresh install. Logitech offers no drivers for my mouse. It didn't come with setpoint, it came with MouseWare but I never installed it when I was using XP. It won't install with windows7. I unplugged, restarted, replugged but nothing has changed.

Did you uninstall the drivers for the mouse?

Unplug mouse, plug in a spare one, uninstall drivers for normal mouse, restart, plug normal mouse back in, w7 should reinstall drivers for normal mouse

Don't actually know if this will work, but it's what I would try

Well yeah that's what I did, uninstalled drivers, reboot, unplug mouse, logon, plugin, auto-drivers. It was still slow. I found SetPoint 6.0 which works for my mouse and I have the speed doubled by two but it still feels a little off. I guess I'll manage with it now if on one has any other input.

Strange. I'm using Setpoint on Win7 and it's great. Mind you, it was a new system to begin with.

Maybe the mouse is dying? Try it on a diff comp if you dont mind the hassle.

Try a different USB port.  If it's wireless, put some fresh batteries in.
