How would you feel about the replacement of the dollar withsomething new, like the Amero?
Are not both The United States and Mexico in a state of failure?

Well, it is true that Finland apparently only uses cards for transactions now, but I don't know how feasibly you could implement that here..Sup wrote:
Why is there still paper/coin money?
woot. Didn't know that. Isn't Freezer too young to own a credit card?Turquoise wrote:
The difference in standard of living between the U.S. and Mexico is still far too vast for a unified currency to work between us. It won't ever happen. I think the Euro has taught the world recently how painful a single currency is for individual members who are profligate spenders. If a country can't debase it's currency like we do on a daily basis, how else would it be able to support massive social programs with deficit spending? In other words politicians, especially those here in the US, would never get behind it because it would mean a loss of power for themselves. Our government never gives up any power once it takes hold of it.
If, somehow, it were to be implemented, it would likely have the positive effect of forcing fiscal solvency on it's members. The world would be better off with a single currency immune to the cries of its members about their desire to debase and inflate their way out of debt. It would force accountability. And you know what? As I typed this out, I just decided that I do in fact desire a global gold standard because it would have the same effect. Interesting.
Yeah, but you only posted this thread because it's a favorite of conspiracy theorists Just like that highway from the Mexican border that is supposed to end in Kansas without any stops in betweenATG wrote:

My mistake... back in the 90s, Avant Finland had proposed a cash-card system that was supposed to replace all physical currency. I guess it didn't pan out.mcminty wrote:

It will be combined UN forces and China invading the US. At the same time Australia, Brazil, and Japan will be asaulted. The invaders will take some regions of the US but we will wage a brutal insurgency and in the end be victorious..Sup wrote:
