On the contrary when I have seen people ask others to stop smoking they have been flatly ignored or told to fuck off.

That is because every smoker thinks THEY are the considerate one while they think it is always someone else that is the "dickhead". Fact is, if you smoke and you do so around others that does not smoke, inside or outside, YOU are the dickhead we all talk about.DrunkFace wrote:

I thought you didn't care lowing, "I don't mind, inhale deep etc". You clearly do have a strong opinion on it so don't hide it. Let it out, we all want to hear your in depth, original social commentarys.
ya read me! there is absolutely no reason on earth to start smoking than the reason cited....You were not addicted to it before you started and if not for acceptance among your peers there is no other reason to do it. Weak minded fools succumbing to peer pressure. and what makes it best is, you know itFatherTed wrote:

Took your time, I knew it was coming after your first post. I knew you wouldn't be able to hold back, "inhale deep" was never enough of an insult to a group of people that are differant from yourself. You had to expand on that misplaced sense of anger.lowing wrote:

I was just told how much pleasure and fun smoking is, that it did not start from peer pressure. If it is soooooooo enjoyable and a barrel of laughs, I just want you to get allll the pleasure and fun out of it you can. I have no anger, I have a complete and utter indifference toward your habits or health. Just don't feel like you have the right to include me in on it.jord wrote:

lmao!! yeah I guess I am. So then, tell me, when was it life that you woke one morning and decided, smoking would do you more good than harm. Tell me when it was that you knew being addicted to nicotine, and spend 5 bucks for a pack of cigarettes was the pleasure you sought to make your life complete, while your breath, clothes and body smells like a sack full of assholes. Tell just how this is what happened and NOT peer preasure.FatherTed wrote:

Hey you said I was wrong. you said you smoke for pleasure and that it did not start from peer preasure and the desire to be accepted.FatherTed wrote:

So obviuously you wieghed all options for yourself and decided smoking does you more good than harm in all the ways I listed. Just want to understand your reasoning behind the positive affects of your cigarette smoking, health wise, and financial, since social reasons, obviously, according to you, do not come into play.
So if you chose to smell like a sack of assholes, chose to throw good money toward cigarettes, chose to pollute your lungs and risk your over all health for pleasure, and not for peer preasure, then the only logical conclusion is............you're an idiot.
iI mean fuck, at least if it were peer preasure you would have a reason, although weak minded it might be, it would still be a reason.

The general theme of your posts in this thread is anything but indifferent. You're making sweeping generalizations on a group that probably numbers in the hundreds of millions, you're assuming smokers don't enjoy smoking yet do not smoke and you're tone is that of resentment.lowing wrote:

Furthermore, and be honest here, if it were up to you how would you legislate smoking? No smoking in public places, outright ban or other?
Where did this bit;lowing wrote:

come from? I know smoking is fucking stupid, but i still enjoy it v0v. people do seemingly pointless, life-threatening and generally stupid things every day in the pursuit of fun, why is smoking particular different for me?lowing wrote:
