thought it was pretty wank
he writes satirically about games when he is clearly a super-casual gamer. he gets interviews with other super-casual gamers.
poor effort for a hasty cash-in, mr.brooker!
he comes across as a bangwagon gamer who bought a 360 because it was the cool thing to do and then figured he knew enough about gaming to make a documentary about it.Bertster7 wrote:

I remember back in the 90's he was one of my favourite writers for PC Zone, back when it was a good PC games magazine.
He was anything but a casual gamer - who started his career as one of the founders of Computer Exchange.
I'd say being a writer for a PC games magazine and being a founding member of a shop like Computer Exchange shows he is, or at least was, a gamer. Not a hardcore gamer, but not a casual gamer either.Uzique wrote:
yah i remember his PC Zone days as well-- i read back some of his stuff retrospectively a few years ago.
but he still was 'casual'. writing for one of those magazines doesn't mean shit.
pc gamer is a shrine of world of warcraft with a super-casual community, for example.
and his opinions and 'focus' for satire seemed to be aimed at titles played by 13 year old girls, e.g. the sims.
