I was originally gonna go with the freshman dorms. The situation you stated would be true, but my college is also in NYC. With 8 million other people around me, I doubt I'm going to be much of a shut-in. The main reason I picked the better dorms was because they had their own bathrooms, and I'm lactose intolerant and have IBS (See Along Came Polly). There was no way I could deal with public bathrooms.
