Yeah.... he will live a horrible life getting book deals and granting exclusive interviews to the media for the highest price. He will be able to speak his mind about evil America and the press will eat it up.

Good job jury.... really good job. TV movie of the week coming up. Even the jurors will have books.

Erkut, you make it sound like he will be living in luxury.  I don't see any amount of money doing him much good in there, and I don't see him EVER getting out.  Would you switch places with him?

It looks ok to me.  Enjoy your 'victory' Moussaoui.

Exactly. So all that money he acquires in prison... where does it go?

And what the hell kind of statement  is "we will repsect them... blah blah..."

What kind of shat is that? Yes, let's respect our enemies, cowardly dogs they are. That's exactly what will show them.

You killed 3,500 people. Gotta respect you for that.....

If he was killed he would of become a martyr, and this would of encouraged would-be terrorists.  You never know, him being a martyr could have encouraged a fresh batch of would-be 9/11-ers...

They could easily torture him, and no one would say a word...force him to go to Christian church services on Sunday.

We should maretyr a few hundred thousand fanatics, put an end to that real quick.

Like there aren't throngs of people waiting to kill themselves in the name of durka-durk.

They can't hate us any more than they already do.

What? Uber-death to America, as opposed to the normal Death to America chants?

he wont be able to make any money in prison, anything he does that generates revenue will go to pay restitution for his crimes. he also doesnt have final say as to wether or not he grant interviews, we (us gov.) will.

I work in the prison system, trust me there will not be anything cushy about his life from here on out. and yes he will need to be monitored 24/7 because he will be an outsider to every group in the system, even the muslims. You need to remember the Muslims in jail  have a very different world view than the radical extremist "muslims" in the mid east. they will not accept him there. he will be KOS to every racial group in his facility. Particularly the arians.

The judge countered Moussaoui's claim that America had lost and he had won by asserting: "Mr. Moussaoui, when this proceeding is over, everyone else in this room will leave to see the sun ... hear the birds ... and they can associate with whomever they want."

She went on: "You will spend the rest of your life in a supermax prison. It's absolutely clear who won."

1) He doesn't deserve it, as he didn't actually kill anyone.  When 9/11 went down, he was already in prison.  No matter how nasty he is, or what he PLANNED to do, the simple fact is that he didn't ACTUALLY kill anyone himself.  Life imprisonment is more appropriate in this case.

2) After a while in prison, he will wish he was dead (if he doesn't already).  In fact, I hope he doesn't get mixed up with general population either.  That way he will have decades to reflect on his actions, as he slowly loses his mind.  The death sentence, or murder in general population would be too quick and easy on him.
THat is my thinking as well.

People who have lost someone close to them rarely think rationally when it concerns the person(s) responsible or those who could (possibly) have stopped it.
EDIT: added possibly

I'm sorry, he may very well deserve life imprisonment, but if he didn't ACTUALLY kill someone, you simply cannot justify taking his life.  Who one knows, or how one feels is immaterial to that.

I understand what you are saying . He wanted to and allowed it . Is there any doubt in your mind that he would have? I think the punishment he got was the worst thing that could have happened to him though.

And to the person who said it's hard to think rationally when you lose someone, I'd have to agree . You know i think when bodies start falling from the sky being rational may not always be the best option. I'm glad he got what he did. Not because I don't want him dead, but because like I said that is the worst for him.

Rational thinking is what seperates us from the Muslim Extreme's . You are already dead in their courts.

I think you're right about that.  It looked to me like he wanted to get the death penalty (to look like a martyr or whatever)

That's what happens when your laws are dictated by religion instead of common sense.

Lets put it this was.  Had this discussion with a buddy of mine who's a corrections officer in a maximum security prison.

He'll get the muslim stuff.  Food, prayer, etc. 23 Hours a day in, 1 hour of recreation.  But all it takes is that 1 hour for him to get hit by some White Supremesist racist and screw him up well.  I severely doubt that the muslims will fully accept him, because his faith is much more radical than theirs.

CNN Thinks he'll be here:
CNN senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said Moussaoui most likely will be locked up inside the federal Supermax prison in Florence, Colorado, which is sometimes known as the "Alcatraz in the Rockies."

Just my 0.02.

Sorry for the double.

Why not take the article from CNN and all of us can get a jail pen pal at old Zach's new place and send the article to them?  They love mail.  No name or return address really, just the article.

I think I'd rather ride the lightning or take the needle or the gas than to be beat to death or shanked in prison, or gang raped.

So that's $0.04 now.

This is what he gets . No gang raping..lol
Moussaoui was expected to be sent as early as Thursday to the super maximum security federal prison in Florence, Colorado known as the "Alcatraz of the Rockies."

Fact:
He will spend 23 hours a day in solitary confinement, in a 7-by-12 foot (3.5-by-2 meter) soundproofed cell.
Whenever he does leave his cell, Moussaoui will be in leg-irons and with his hands cuffed behind his back.

A fate worse than death to him no doubt.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&a … _cell_dc_1

Furniture in the cells, according to those who have seen them, is made almost entirely of poured concrete. It includes a concrete stool, desk and bed covered by a thin mattress. There is a toilet and a shower in the room which runs on a timer to prevent prisoners causing floods.

Moussaoui will seldom if ever see any of the other roughly 400 inmates in the prison. These include high-profile criminals such as Theodore Kaczynski, the "Unabomber"; Omar Abdel-Rahman, the "blind sheik" involved in the World Trade Center bombing of 1993; Richard Reid, the "Shoe Bomber"; Eric Rudolph, convicted of bombing abortion clinics and setting off a bomb in a park during the 1996 Atlanta
Olympic Games and
Terry Nichols, convicted of involvement in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

Florence is included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's most secure prison. It has 1,400 remote- controlled steel doors and many motion detectors and hidden cameras. The area between the prison walls and the razor-wire perimeter is monitored by laser beams and pressure pads and guarded by attack dogs.

Human-rights activists say this kind of long-term segregation takes a harsh toll on prisoners' mental health and many of them eventually suffer from problems, including depression, paranoia, hallucinations and anxiety.

One of the statements one of the victims families just stated.
I am quoting her,
"We (US) have just showed the world what we do to terrorist that mean us harm. That we will treat them with respect no matter how much disrespect they show us. That makes us the stronger ones. We have shown the world that we have a fair and balanced justice system."
When something good finally comes out of that "justice" system, some idiot always has to make some stupid comment like that, and down the drain the acknowledgement goes.

Hey, every time he meets someone (lawyer, red crescent etc), he'll have to be strip/cavity searched!  Imagine being humiliated and molested LEGALLY every time someone came to see you.
