and in fact i will never miss other music
no no please don't. it's hardcore analogue experimentalism and i'd never recommend it to the electronic kiddies here. wouldn't even want to. the electronic intelligentsia are going crazy over it though because it seems to be the only artistic, aesthetic and meaningful progression in the whole electronic area of music in the last 5 years.

Well good, because I don't think anyone would want to listen to that boring shit anyways!
Listened to a couple minutes of that one you posted in the recommend/rate thread. My tastes are pretty broad, but that's too far over the edge for me. I need to be in a certain mood to be able to listen to that kind of music, to understand it, and to enjoy it. Unfortunately I can only recall being in that position a few times. Thanks for sharing though!

im very glad there's a distinction between the artistic afficionado's appreciation and the kiddies that listen to stuff that is 'cool' or they 'like'.

Oh don't get me wrong, I still downloaded it and burned it to a cd and put it in an envelope labeled "Open in 10 years and blast from my raised truck while wearing Oakleys"
You will not fly. You will soar!

Well around southern California, the epitome of is getting a massive truck, raising it and putting huge wheels on it, then only driving on city streets, all while wearing some shitty sunglasses and blaring music loudly so that everyone else can hear what you're listening to and will instantly know that you're a pretty cool guy.
yeah but my point was this stuff falls far on the other side of the 'art/cool' dichotomy.
you'd be better burning daft punk for your hummer, sir

Ah. Well I was thinking more of being so far behind the curve that if I played it 10 years from now, all the 15yo's around here who are into trance would think I'm the god of cool for showing them something so underground and new and hip.
Then again, I suddenly realized my total failure because, IMO, a lot of IDM and experimental stuff is so timeless and 'out there' that years (or even decades) later it still flies over a lot of people's heads.

agreed on the generalisation. careful using the term 'IDM' though for this stuff, cause idm it aint.

Haven't heard this since the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup. Quite enjoyable.
