I'll just assume you used a poor choice of words.Uzique wrote:

Highlighted point is where you move on to talk about the cutscenes. The former part is your false assumption that everyone knows Starcraft has a great storyline. I'm sure it does, not arguing that, but anyone who hasn't played it wouldn't know this as the multiplayer is the part it's renowned for from all that's said about the game.Uzique wrote:
@fflink: it's not deceiving... starcraft has always been known for a rich storyline/fantasy universe (like all blizzard games) and the single-player campaign has cutscenes like the trailer throughout it, driving the story along. for anybody that played the original starcraft, the animated cut-scenes and movie-snippets are awesome and add loads to the game-immersion.

you do realize, despite everything said about starcraft's great single-player... that multiplayer is the forte of most well-balanced RTS games.
why do you hate it? too hard and competitive? too social?
Yeah I prefer winning each time...Uzique wrote:
so you have more fun knowing you can win everytime? ... makes a lot of sense.
btw blizzard has a matchmaking system based on performance and ELO rating systems that matches you against people of your skill.
the community is divided into 'leagues': copper (noobs), bronze->silver->gold, platinum (pros) - and you have to rise/fall through the ranks of your general league before it pairs you up against anyone that is far better or far worse than you. so... yeah. kinda defeats your point.
Oh god no don't bring apple into this...Uzique wrote:
it's hardly the next apple gadget when it comes to hype, is it? blizzard make fantastic games. starcraft 2 will be an absolutely top-notch RTS.
starcraft is a purist's RTS - an old-school RTS. it's focussed a lot on economy and on excellent macro/micro skills. it really is the best-balanced, most well-developed and most engaging/tactical RTS of them all... it's in another league to most RTS games, e.g. Command & Conquer. the level of skill, practice and gaming-ability to succeed is pretty much unrivalled in its genre. what's not to like about that?
oh, i forgot... you like to win in every game you play
